I have been thinking of a way to build a cabnet with peg board pullouts? I need more storage for tools. I have the back of of a 1930? fuel truck bed I would like to use. But how to do it? has some one did a cabnet or some thing like it. It looks like tools hanging up would be better to find and keep track of.

I think I know what your idea is and have seen something similar somewhere. We have the heavy Kennedy metal peg boards which could be mounted to some kind of slide (if ya had more fab skills than me lol). Turning them side ways would obvious. I am a parts guy at a factory in St Louis and see neat ideas all the time. Will do some digging.

How close are you to STL?

Do a search for the Huot pegboard cabinet thread recently run. I think its pretty much exactly what you describe.

The other (non pegboard) option might be the Montezuma crossover tool box (assuming automotive tools) Peg board concept w/o the pegboard...

Autobon7 I have been to stL but not sure how far 170? You are thinking along the lines of what I want. But it is hard to picture it. The crossover box Ideal is something to think about.

I am right at 170 and 270 not far from the airport. I will do some digging over the next week to see what I can find. I know I have seen something like this somewhere but have been here 23 long years and seen a bunch. Seems like if ya had a slide on top and bottom spaced maybe 3 or 4 inches apart, slide out sideways that would be great.

Can you snap some pics of what they are going in? Prolly wont have much web access all weekend but will check back when I can.

This is my cabnet. It is 4feet wide 4feet tall and 2feet deep. I think it would be good for tools that are not used all the time. I plan to build a frame with roller to set it on.
