Before I parked, I went 3 days, 6 hours with just off floor temp at 65 degrees.

Hmm. Mine took several days. I waited 4 days to even walk enough on it to install the base boards, but I put mine down thicker than normal. I would say a safe bet is one week before heavy items (cars trucks etc).

Did it make a dent of scuff? Should not be peeling any clear off no matter how long.

The last coat of my floor was done 23hrs ago and it's hard as a rock. I can barely make a dent with fingernail if I try real hard.

I am at work now. I am thinking it is just a mark or scuff. Didn't have time to check it out throughtly. My floor has been down 4 days before I parked on it.

Good news. The spot was just from the rubber on my motorcycle tire. It comes right up. Motorcycle tires are softer than car tires and leave more marks.
Also my diamond plate baseboards just got here from Fedex. Will be installing them tomorow. Than finishing moving everything back in garage. It will be a rap on my garage remodel after that.
I'm going to go look for some of that Shinner beer you all were mentioning. Than I can set in my garage and celebrate.

Yeah my ATV tire marks were some of the harder things to clean up on the raw garage floor.
Got see a pix when you install the diamond base board!
Most areas seem to have Shiner Bock. My wife always brings me back all the other styles when she makes a business trip to Austin.

I got mine from www.tread-ware.com. Cheapest price I could find. They only sell it in 4 foot sections. 8 foot sections cost alot more to ship. I had to order 4" and 6" due to my garage floor has dropped. Got it and it is excellant. Actually diamond plate and not cheap plastic.

Got my base board down today. Garage is finished. I love it and it gives my bad *** motorcycle a nice home to sit in.
Will be starting my new work bench tomorrow and hope to be done by Friday.
Went to thee liquir stores and none had shinner beer. So I celebrated with one of my favorities.

Very informative thread, I think I pretty much found everything I need to buy and the process for my garage approx 1150sqft. Just a few questions,
What is the squeegee used for?
Why do you need to apply the epoxy in rapid succession? As opposed to having lag time in between each new mixture.
My base molding is already in place, so what is the best way to protect it and apply the epoxy on the edges? I assume a paint brush, so would I do the entire perimeter first?

Very nice eddie!! Good job. Do you like the base molding? How are the joints between them, fit well against each other?
Nokkieny, you spread the epoxy with the squeege first then roll it. You can search youtube for a video for epoxy-coat. I think the reason applied one after the other is so that they blend together on the floor. You can blue tape the molding. I used a small hot dog roller along the wall, much easier than the brush. I just did mine and this is what I learned. Do NOT do the perimeter first. section off your floor at least visually and do those squares one at a time. do the perimeter of that square first but only that square, then move to the next and do the same thing.

Excellent work Eddie. Its really nice to have a floor like this. I'm really liking mine. Now you are making me wish I would have done a little extra on the base boards.

Banker is correct about the application. Epoxy is much thicker than paint and will not spread around like paint with a roller. You need to move it with a squeegee, then the roller is just for smoothing out. They make a tape in the paint department that looks like duck tape. Its much thicker and will not bleed through like some of the painters tape, but a good quality blue tape should be fine.

Does the 15 gallon performance epoxy kit only come in three colors? I was going to do black with glow, but it would be probably triple the cost seeing how expensive the glow flakes can be. Not sure it would be a good decision for resale value either.

Yes, pay attention to this statement. I waited until after it was all cured and it was more difficult. Luckly I only had the edge of the garage floor taped at the driveway.

Curious, any tire marks driving the ATV in and out? On the raw concrete, the soft tire would rub off with any little turn, especially if it was still in 4wd mode!

My son hardly plays on that 4 wheeler but I push it out and back inside. The exmark is a different stroy that thing is twice as heavy and turns back and forth real quick. I did not see any marks on the floor last night from driving it around. Just light dirt marks from the tires but no rubber marks. Same thing with my bike.

Having problems with the clear.
Same as Eddie. Extremely sad.
First, The mixture ratio was dead on. I mixed the product very well using a med speed milwaukee corded drill.
Second, the floor was spotless. Triple rinsed with pressure washer. Acid etched with the right amount of texture. No peeling issues.
Third, I did not apply anything on this floor other than the actual performance epoxy kit and flakes.
Fourth, I used seperate roller pads for clear and base. Not sure how you would reuse a roller.
There is no contamination from anything. The floor started doing this several weeks ago and has gotten much worse over the last couple weeks.
Could use some help from the pro's on how to remove the clear coat as it appears it is not really affecting the base color. Type equipment process etc. I expected some yellowing in six months, year etc. But now my slaved over floor looks dirty.
My floor is not prefectly clean in these pics, but trust me that is not dirty water.

Talked to Christine at Performance Epoxy today. They are going to stop selling the clear coat till they find out that the problem with it is. She is very nice and said they will do what ever it takes to make it right.
I have others spots in other sections now that are starting to yellow. Also alot of small yellow dots showing up. Total bummer as that I completed my floor for a motorcycle club get together next month at my house.

I'm lucky I guess... Just boarder and 2 small rooms done in base/flake... No clear. Wonder if the base I did so far will yellow...

Oh wow, would you really repeat the base/flake/clear process??!! I'm kinda worried now too. One side has about a week ahead of the other so I'll be watching that one. Not sure what i would do if it yellows....just live with it.....maybe just scuff it and put a new plain basecoat! I would have close to 30 mils then!

If it yellows I could try just sanding or whatever prep needed, put a thin coat of new clear and flake that, then a thick clear. Leave what I have underneath. Yes, that would be thick.
Im thinking on mine with the colors and flakes I may not be able to notice yellowing.

Has there been any developments on the clear issue. I was all ready to make the call and order up the performance epoxy coating to do the floor in my 36 X 24 garage, but I am hesitant now.
Do you think that going 2 coats of color, rather than color and clear would be a better idea?
I want a rather thick film so it's chip resistant, because I do quite a bit of work in my shop, and dropping tools etc... is going to happen.

Still ***** that it happened to beancounter. It was his pics that had me convinced to go this route.
Have to commend him on bringing his issues out into the open. Some may have tried to work something out behind the scenes, and that would have others setting themselves up for failure later.
