I am hoping someone on here has some experience with these engines.
I need to remove the fuel pump off a Perkins 1103 - 3 cylinder engine with Delphi fuel pump.
Is it possible to find TDC on the compression stroke without removing the rocker cover?
The workshop manual only talks about the 4 cylinder models and specifies to judge the position from the no. 4 cylinder valve positions and then use two locking pins.
Is there no easy way of doing this? Are there no marks on the timing gears (like on the older perkins engines)? Is it not possible to use the locking pins on their own to locate tdc on compression?
