How long can I leave Pex exposed to direct UV rays (sunlight) before I need to be concerned.

I would like to start laying the pex this week, however it will will be 10 to 12 days before the contractor can pour the slab. Garage currently has no doors installed and the sun will shine directly on 25% of the floor throughout the day.

Very generally 30 to 60 days is common. Manufacturers use differing amounts of UV protector in their products, so you should check the specs for your specific product.

I've had some blue pex exposed for at least 5yrs with water pressure on it and no leaks yet. It was a temporary line to a guard house that became permanent. I've been waiting for it to go but it seems to be holding up OK ,in direct sunlight too.
