Is anyone from the phoenix az area? If so where can you buy good quality used tools? Mac, snap on, wright, s-k, cornwell, cman, Matco etc? I stopped by a pawn 1st today and they had one 10mm wrench. Any ideas?

Ebay. Seriously though, I've never seen a local retail store with a decent deal on high end tools. I've bought a few at garage sales, but those are few and far between.

hard to say. i would check the weekly flea markets that happen on the weekends though, that would be a good place to start.

If you find somewhere, let me know because, I haven't found anything that wasn't waay overpriced:lol: Not wanting to inspire competition but here ya go:

Glendale community college has a Just Sell It automotive swap meet the first Sunday of each month (usually, no March event). you might find something there.

There's an automotive swap meet held at the fairgrounds a few times a year, next one being March 28 & 29. Their slogan is bringing Pomona to Arizona but, if Pomona looks like their event, I'm glad I never made the trip.

There's a flea market at a 6 screen drive in at 59th avenue in between Camelback and Bethany home (I think), I haven't been there in awhile but, there's usually something to be found there on Sundays. There used to be a couple of dealers that cleaned out the local pawn shops of their tool brand items.

There's a pawn shop at 7th street and Bell that has a decent selection of mechanics tools but, not so many bargains per se.

As someone else said, Ebay may be your best bet. good luck in your quest.

Mesa Marketplace is worthless for tools. A couple of vendors have their booths stuffed with Chinese chit rejected by Harbor Freight. "PitBull" and "Crown Tools" seem to be their stock in trade. One old guy has a few bins of greasy sockets, rusty screwdrivers and cheapo combo wrenches that look like they were the floor sweepings from a hundred garage sales. Nothing worth making a trip for.

I pick them up here and there at estate sales, garage sales, etc. Here's a link that may help; recommendation of a pawn shop on Indian School Road that is supposed to be good (I haven't been there). I believe this is the address.

Mo Money Pawn, 1152 E Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85014

Big pawn shop purchase - lots of Plvmb!

Like the other locals that have posted so far, I haven't found a good place for quality tools either. I usually shop eBay when I need something specific.

I was in the Mo Money pawn shop at 1152 E Indian School Rd years ago and haven't been back since. Every Phoenix area pawn shop I've been in seems to start pricing at retail. I guess the strategy is that you've got to dicker them down to reality from there. My time's not worth much, but it's worth more than that...
