Mitch, how are you measuring the 0-60mph, is it a GTech or a phone app? Very impressive picking up nearly a full second with just turning up the voltage.

Been awhile since I checked in Mitch. I see that I have missed the Zombie build that appears to run like a raped ape, a few piant project and one other expected thing, blood shed.




BTW, I think you're on to something with the battery powered older muscle.

We DID IT! The Zombie 222 with a vintage 2.47 ring and pinion performed wonderfully. Yesterday was a great day. After several 1/8 mile runs around 7.1 we finally dialed in everything right and the car started really moving (like a 7.1 isn't already moving) and ran

1/8 in 6.8 seconds at 101 mph and our 0-60 time dropped to 2.41. We are now quicker than production Italian super cars. 1968 American muscle street car out sprinting super cars. Crazy! Gotta love electricity.

It was like getting shot out of a cannon. No sound except the wind. Sitting in a 68 Mustang experiencing this is very surreal.

I can't even imagine what rail guys experience. There was a jet rail at the track that did the 1/8 in 4.6 at 154 mph.

Here is a slow motion video clip a guy shot of one of my burn outs where the car completely hide itself in smoke before attacking and crushing a modified Z28. Pretty cool if I do say so myself.

Yes, the Wallace racing calculator is usually dead on and predicts a 10.7, My partner, John Wayland, who has done this for years predicts a 10.5-10.6 based on the 1/8th. When we ran the 1/4 in 12.1 several months back, our finishing speed was 99mph and we just finished the 1/8 at 101mph so we know we are in the 10s somewhere.

Unfortunately the San Antonio drag strip has closed down so there isn't a full 1.4 track close for now.

I love the stories and your wife must be a true blessing to be with-to put up with the things you have gone thru. I love the cars you have and are working on (love fast Fords). My builder was just a local guy with a good reputation and we used a Mueller engineered bolt up system since my span was so large. I wouldn't change a thing except insist on a better job with the drainage to floor drain, but that was the concrete finishers problem, not the building. I used Google sketch-up to design it and the builder just used those dimensions to have Mueller manufacture it.

My wife is beyond a shadow of a doubt the best thing that has ever happened to me. I probably don't tell her enough, but it is in my heart. If you handed me a winning power ball ticket for $300 million and said I could only have it if I give up having my wife in my life, you wouldn't like where I would tell you you could put the ticket.... Now $301 Million.....Just kidding.

My niece turned 16 and her Mother and Father got a very nice low miles late model Camero for her first car. V6, but with the leather interior. Problem was that the car was a plain dark blue and my girl likes a little pop! I took the car the day before they surprised her with it and did a custom stripe job with semi flat hot rod white. Thought I would share the pics. After she posted them to her facebook, I got some calls wanting pricing for custom stripe work on other Cameros. Power of advertising, but that's not how I want to make money so it is limited to friend and family.

Wow, I haven't posted in a long time. Well here is an update on the Zombie 222 Electric Super Muscle Car.

After the Texas mile where we ran 174.2, we decided to start testing new stuff for a 200mph attempt in Oct. so we installed a third gear vendor over drive and headed to the Texas 1/2 to what we could do to improve our 1/2 mile speed of 156mph. We set a new 1/2 mile record for street electric by hitting 165.3mph. (missed an electric drag car record of 165.5 by .2 MPH) which bodes well for the 200mph attempt. Here is an in car video.

He felt that pitting his state of the art Tesla up against a homemade electric Mustang would be a cake walk. Boy was he wrong. He ran a very impressive 11.8 seconds.

For drag racing however, 1.94 on a 60 is slow... Is there anything you could do to mimic say a transbrake of a typical 1/4mi car to get that mutiplied torque off the line?

It could be all dependent on your suspension as well, or traction. A typical 10 second car should be trapping less than 1.5sec 60fts.

As most of you know, I have a small problem with spiders so I am always on the look out for them. Here is a picture I sent the guys in the shop to identify one day when I was working on a car. I asked what kind of spider it was and turns out it is a hair spider. That means it is a piece of my scalp where I bumped my head earlier that day. You know you have issues with spiders when you see a piece of your own scalp and think it is a spider.

I thought I would share some pics of a 1962 "Bullet" T-Bird I am fixing up to sell. (yes, my wife has laid down the law. Something has to go) Only have 45K original miles and sat in a garage/barn for 29 years. The body is completely rust free and other than a couple of cracks in the dash pad (which I think I can get fixed in car) she is in great shape. I need to replace one ball joint, small leak at the rear seal of the transmission and recharge the AC and she will be right.

Wow, it has been a while since I posted anything.

The Zombie 222, 1968 Mustang Fastback all electric super car update. Good news, we recently set another world world for street electric cars by clocking 178 MPH in 1 mile at the Texas Mile event in Oct. Bad news, I pretty much destroyed the battery pack doing it. I pushed the battery so hard trying to hit 200 mph that 75 yards from the 1 mile marker, I blew a fuse and coasted into a speed of 178. Who knows how fast we were going since you only get clocked at the 1 mile marker. The fuse blew because we were draining the battery below it's safe low voltage and some of the cells ruptured and triggered a spike that triggered the fuse pop. After getting car back to the Blood Shed and disassembling the battery pack, we found that 1/2 of the cells were damaged.

Since our goal is to be the first street electric car to hit 200 MPH, the car is currently sitting in the shop getting prepped for a new battery that is much more powerful than the old one. Much more powerful, but also more heavy by 600lb. That will hurt in 1/4 racing, but for top speed 1 mile racing should be OK. We are using different cell technology, but still in the Lithium family.

Lord willing we are going to try for 200 MPH on 4/1 back at the Texas Mile in Beeville TX. Keep your finger crossed.

Now for a business update. We have three very cool customer cars in progress.

First is a 1970 Camaro Z28 that is getting full racing suspension front/rear and drive train upgrade to a new LT4 Z06 engine and 6 speed ******.

The second car is a 1966 Mustang Convertible that is getting full electric conversion. It will be a sleeper running twin AC electric motors and have a driving range 125 miles. The customer wants it to be a 0-60 4 second car. The car is planned to have AC, power steering and power brakes.

The third is a 1964 Lincoln Continental 4 door hard that is getting full electric conversion and air bagged. It is going to be a low riding gangster car. Also planned for 125 mile range.
