Dang. Too bad the battery pack didn't hold up for a just a little bit longer. Good luck hitting the 200 mph mark with the next battery!

Interesting projects too. Thanks for posting.

Do you have more info on this, I have a Lincoln group that would love to see more.

We are just getting started on the Lincoln. Waiting until the motors shows up to start the conversion. I can tell you that it is going with twin AC motors, dual 150KW inverters and 53kwH of the best LiPo batterties that money can buy. The owner is not looking to make a really fast car, just a silent cruiser and be the first to ever do a Lincoln. We are going to air bag it while we are at it.

We just got back from the last Texas Mile where I ran 178.1 which is a new personal best and a new vintage mustang world record :) What's really cool is that I did it with one of my electric motors 1/2 blown out and melting. I see 200mph in the future...

That's exactly what happened. The show didn't air it, but they filmed him accepting the deal and him turning it down. That part just didn't make the cut. Everything else was just as it happened. The wife wanted a ride and the guy Shaggy really didn't believe what the car could do. The burn out of really awesome. BTW, if you are interested, go to mitchmedford channel on youtube and you can see videos of cars under conversion for customers.

Yes, the wires on one of the brushes burned 1/2 and that started a plasma storm inside the motor that also melted another brush set and then started melting the brush holders into slag. However, the other two brush sets on that motor were still working which is how I got to 178MPH. 1 and 1/2 motors. At the Texas mile, I run them at 222volts and 2000amps each. So I am pulling 222v at 4000amps. That will run 113 plasma cutters or mig welders at full load.

Wow, been a long time since I posted. Well, to start, the 1970 Z28 with the 2017 Corvette Z06 crate motor and six speed ****** is completed. Massive amount of modification to get all of this working. New 4 link Ford 9" with watts bar, carbon fiber drive shaft, carbon fiber seats, new digital gauges that fit the vintage housing. Massive disk brakes, shaved bumpers with no bolts, AC, Power rack and pinion steering, power brakes, dual adjustable shocks and sway bars both ends, etc...

668HP and 668 lb.ft. torque. Next up is to make all the changes to pass tech inspection for competing in the vintage car race circuit. Here are a few pics.

I have been shooting build videos of two electric conversions underway. Here are the links to the 1966 Mustang Convertible we are doing and then I'll post the links to the 1964 Lincoln Continental we are doing.

I just finished this entire thread and I know a lot of time has passed since you started with your fight with the city! Ha! Such a great story! (and stories!) Thank you for sharing and good luck with the new (not new now!) venture. So cool to follow your dreams!

Loved your message on the gifts you've received. Awesome way to explain it.

Your mini-bike swamp story reminded me of my neighbor....I live on a pond with trees around it. The neighbor got a Suzuki 50 for his two sons and first time out his older son starts on the side yard and as he's going downhill (allegedly to then turn across the backyard but also heading right toward said pond).....he's picking up speed....gets scared....pins it....and while I was SURE he would end up being stopped by the trees (possibly slapping the low hanging branch like your childhood friend!) he didn't....his first time on a bike and he wove that sucker through those trees at top speed like nothing I've ever seen. Of course that then launched him and the bike into the pond. Dad pulled him out, I grabbed the rear wheel of the bike and pulled it out, the other brother is of course po'd bc his brother just "wrecked" the bike. It didn't of course.....pulled the plug....let it dry out and it fired back up after a bit. haha.

Anyway....thanks for the entertaining read and wish you the best of luck with the 'lectrics! Some kick a** times and speeds you're hitting!

Wow, just read through this whole thread. My mind is blown. If I ever end up in Austin I have to try and see the shop that is so crazy. The Lincoln most of all.

Well, it has been a LONG time since I posted here and now that I have a little time on my hands I thought I would catch up.

First, the Zombie 222. In our last attempt at the Texas Mile, I did clock a new top speed of 178.9MPH, but regrettably I damaged the battery which ultimately lead to a battery fire later at the shop. The car is OK, but the battery is toast. That means the car has been sitting for a long time with no source of power. The sponsor has not helped out in anyway so I am back to square one on building a new better battery from the ground up. We have not been working on it because we are so far behind on our customers cars.

The street legal race car, 1970 Camaro is completed and is unbelievable. I will post some pictures of the finished car later.

Since my partners only work part time as time permits and they all have families, progress on the 1966 Mustang and 1965 Lincoln is going slowly. Moving forward, but slowly. They will be some of the most sophisticated conversions ever done with things like active liquid cooling and wireless control, but when you are re-creating a "Tesla" from the ground up in a classic car with 3 part time guys, time will be a factor.

To keep my skills portfolio growing, I have taken up wood tuning and have been combining exotic woods, resins and stone and have a number of people purchase my output. I'll post of few pictures in a bit and add a link to my etsy store you want to see more. Not try to drum up business, just sharing for ideas.

Lastly, to keep my creative side exercised, I have created a humorous (at least to me) video channel for a character called the Mountain Oracle based 100% on my grandfather from the Blue Ridge Mountains. He was a gravelly voiced old man who would mess up words on purpose and acted real hillbilly, but was actually sharing wisdom in a funny way. He swore he got his knowledge from the mountains using his "psychotic powers and received them telegraphically, which was psychic powers and telepathically" and called them mountain oyster pearls of wisdom. As I've gotten older, I've been wanting to express common sense thoughts on current topics without getting sucked into the great political divide in the country and maybe make someone laugh once in a while. It is new, free and if you want to take a look and leave suggestions for future topics, here is the link to one of "impeachment for Thanksgiving". I've done some on the homeless debate, the new OK Boomer insult as well.

Stay tuned for car and tuning pics over the next couple of days and I hope everyone who loves garages and shops and tools has a GREAT thanksgiving...

I was just showing off the video of Z222 to some guys here at work the last few weeks. Sorry to hear about the battery and lack of sponsorship "help". Post pics as soon as you can.
