The corner of the house where I park my truck has a 120 volt receptacle within about 40 feet, but no other nearby power. I always need to use a fairly long extension cord if I want to use a shop vacuum, power washer, grinder, etc. I would also like the option of having 240 volt power near that corner so I could use it for a welder, or in the future to run an electric vehicle charger.
Could I just run 6/3 copper to a weatherproof sub-panel mounted on the outside of the house, and then connect it to weatherproof receptacles, or would it make more sense to use an integrated 120/240 box like you find on an RV pedestal? I am assuming I won't ever need more than 50 amps, and for current requirements I don't even need that.
