Plastic Elec conduit question

Hi guy's can plastic electrical conduit go in a wall behind Sheetrock? Thinking for a compressor 32 amp run load. Do I still need 6 ga. or can it be 8 in the thhn wire?

Yes on the PVC conduit and #8 THHN.

I assume you'll be doing 2 #8 and 1 #10 for ground. You can get by with 1/2". If you add a third #8 for a neutral (Don't need it) you'll need to jump up to 3/4".

I already have the wire from A job I was on , its all #8 so I'll use the 3/4".

3 #8 THHN is the max for 1/2" so you can still use 1/2" if you want to.

Don't use 1/2". That stuff is worthless regardless of what the NEC fill charts tell you. There is a reason our shop doesn't use 1/2" pvc and rigid. Use 3/4, you'll be glad you did.
