Houston TXWhere is your location because the ones around my area see snap on and look to ebay for a pricing guide . Nice score btw.

Great find, I don't find that kind of deals in the pawn shops that I go into. I do some times find deals, but not steals.
The pawn shops I have been in are usually overpriced or priced just about fair market. The odd time I have seen an OK deal, but that's it. Never had a fantastic deal.

Pretty much the same here, ok deals at best.
Another neat trick is where they post stuff for sale on Craigslist, but when you go there to buy it, not only do they not have it, they look at you like your insane.
If you show them the ad on your phone - they claim they have no idea how that got there. They might maybe have had one of those at one time.
Which I am pretty sure they did since I could recognize the counter where the photo they posted was taken. (or they have it under the same counter given the ad was freshly posted the day before)
However if I would be interested in a gun or a diamond they have those handy.
Had that happen to me twice in about 6 months at different pawn shops and I pretty much gave up. Greedy deceptive pawnshops, imagine that.
A friend of mine had some of his tool stolen so we went to a lot of shops looking for them, he hit a lot more than I did, but every one was way overpriced on pretty much everything, at new prices or more, with a couple almost reasonable deals, maybe.
Edit: I assume if I spent enough time looking I could probably find a good deal or two, but if I figure in my gas and time, I could have bought two of whatever I got brand new and saved the hassle.
I got this one today. Can I chase down the So truck to get it repaired. The socket doesn't move in all directions, only one. Must be rusted to hell.Nice score.
Pawnshops near me ask 75% of retail for anything with snap-on on it. Owners marks, rust, and abuse don't seem to reduce value.

The clown in the mirror would most likely tell Me if I paid too much; but We are both usually laughing or wearing a smile. There's this one shop that is packed to the hills with everything but they want too much and I've never-ever seen anything sold. Don't know how they stay in business. Another one has a parking lot sale to get rid of stock and there are great deals to be had. This happens to be the one who sold me the miter saw. Some people realize it is better to move product than to get top dollar for every single item.

I picked this up in Kansas, over Christmas holiday vacation.. for $9 at a Pawn Shop.Managed to get this ratchet for $2.50

Same here, except it's pretty rare to find any Snap On in a pawn shop. I think they grab it for themselves or put it on ebay.Pawnshops near me ask 75% of retail for anything with snap-on on it. Owners marks, rust, and abuse don't seem to reduce value.
