A plasma cutter is what you need. think of all the other fun stuff you can do with your new plasma cutter.

I think that I'm going to get these. They weigh less than 3 pounds and they fold up for easy carrying. Plus they'll be easier to use than the Knipex pliers.

On 9 Ga chain link you will certainly need heavy duty cutters... bolt cutters etc.
11 Ga or lighter if you think your hands are strong enough 7" diagonal cutters.

You need to cut the chain link at an angle like on fencing slope to a vertical post.

To splice or shorten a 50' section you remove the "worm" link or use it to splice another section of chain link.
