does anyone have this 1/4 set also? Does it have the cross bar?

This is one of my two Firestone sets. Not sure where the other one is right now or whether the cross bar ("tommy bar") is still there. The other set has a wonky ratchet that either needs repair or replacement.

thanks Roy, fell into my lap!

Is the cross bar small and not coated like the tools as this one is ? fits the breaker hole perfectly.
How's your Plomb sort going?

That is also what my crossbar looks like. I thought it was odd the finish was different but they all seem to be like that.

My 1/4” drive Plomb crossbar looks like that too.
Here are my Sonoma County Plomb finds for today. The Evaporust is hard at work on many of them. It’s interesting that they were all 3/8” drive.

Yeah, the typical Eprey definition of "rare" is
"I've never seen one so it MUST be rare..."

But there is almost always 10+ of the same thing currently for sale...

Oh My. I have never seen one of those. That would look great as an enterance to a large Plomb display if anyone had one.

"came up with" as in purchased from a collector who was liquidating his collection. The neon and the catalog were the cherries on top of a pile of wrenches and sockets. I'd take more pics of the neon if I was interested in selling it, but I'm a Plomb collector and would never part with it.

I can understand you not wanting to part with it. I can't understand you only sharing photos if it was for sale, and not wanting to share more photos, and especially some close-ups of the construction, front and back, and any mfgr's markings that may be on it, because it's not for sale. Just as an FYI, those are the kinds of details that we share here in the spirit of camaraderie and knowledge, in case someone "comes up with" another one.

Looks like I'm going to have to remove it from my wall to take more pics for the skepticle Mr. X. It's not going to happen today my friend, and I find it quite amusing that you think it's "suspect". But when I do, I'll also take a pic of it lit up for 3baygarage. The thread said "show your stuff" so I figured I'd go big. I'll be happy to take some more pics from my collection.
