Did something fairly out of character and bought two sockets of a size/brand which I already have two or three of; the difference? The other two or three I have are not dated and these are.

When did they start hot broaching, again?

The two last sockets(5430; 5431) Appear to have never been used or sparingly, almost no evidence of striking and zero grease or corrosion.
Nice pair. They look to be a late 39 and 41.

Brake eccentric adjusting wrench is correct. Here is a Cornwell and a tiny Barcalo with original packaging. I have one in Herbrand too, I believe.

During the late 1930's and early 1940's Bendix made a shoe brake system with an anchor pin for each shoe that had an eccentric stud so you could adjust the contact with the drum at that point. The pin was threaded with a lock nut to secure the adjustment. The anchor pin had a flat machined on the end of the threads so it could be turned. This wrench has a narrow opening to fit that flat.

There are several sizes of anchor pin flats, so there is more than one version of this wrench type.

I was thinking the same thing. I snagged a BIN now a few weeks back for $19.99 shipped. I was really excited at the time now I am even more.
I swear it wasnt me! .... I already have one maybe 2 of those. I have been amassing some Plomb and have been super busy lately... but I will make a return post soooon.
Good to see you posting. Can't wait to see what you have amassed lately for the pile-o-plomb.

Mine came in this random lot of greasy Plomb sockets. I’m sure I didn’t pay much for them.

There is a decent amount of suckage in the white box you posted Don! Nice finds

Thanks. Many of those pieces will end up in this master 1/4” drive set in progress. I added the ignition wrenches and some shallow sockets. I still have a ways to go.

A couple more to the wall and board.
A pebble screwdriver and an 1-1/16" 8pt socket. It seems like anything over 1" on the double squares are very hard to come by. Anybody have a non dual example of the 1-1/16" and 1-1/4".
