Now we know who made them for plvmb! Thanks for the pictures! Really nice piece. What would you say is your most rare piece? Mine would be either my small 4751 mini ratchet or my transitional 24" pipe wrench

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm not really sure. Probably the 4751's.

Thank you. The aquamarine one is a GTO, the blue and white one is a "plain" Tempest.

OMT: i've yet to log on to FACEBOOK cause GJ is takes care of all my social online needs. that said if you'd like to post up a few more pictures of that car i'm sure the other guys on this thread wouldn't mind and having a Plvmb tool box or sign or even a wrench in the picture would even be cooler.

BTW the sign is very cool and what are the dimensions. yes signs, magazine articles, and what nots with Plvmb names on them are OK to post on this thread if you might have any more.

The display is two layers of mdf. Nothing fancy. Traced the wrenches, bansawed it out, ran a router around. There is two tapered shims on the back. Can't hang it on the wall flat, they want to fall out. Had some old brown spray laying around.
Thanks for the compliments

Steel: it looks great and i thought it was steel for some reason. anyway what is simple to you is AMAZING to a lot of us. tracing the tools yes that is not hard, but routering out the edges of the cuts now that takes some good thinking and more skills.

if you want to hang on a wall can you put a little shim or maybe 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch piece of wood attached to the bottom to give the board a little tilt hanging on your wall.

WELL DONE!

Here are yesterday's estate sale finds from the Plomb empire. From top to bottom a Plomb DBE wrench, a dual Plomb/Proto marked DBE wrench, a Wright Field WF16 extension and a P&C deep socket.

My tools aren't organized well enough to get a good picture of them. For this picture I just pulled out a sample of each ratchet. There are 4 minis because they are all a bit different. I'm pretty sure I have about 200 ratchets, most of them in the 1/4" size.

OMT, welcome to the site. It's always kind of fun to see someone you recognize from elsewhere on the Internet (in this case, the PY/Maxperformance Pontiac board).

Well I went to a couple of Estate sales today, neither had tools listed so was with daughter looking for dresser to refinish for her new house.. She spotted this in the garage. No one had bought it and it was 30 min till closing for the day.... Needless to say I took it home! 1/2 drive sockets, 1/4 drive sockets, extension, breaker bar, a REALLY nice 1/2 ratchet thats tight! feels like its never been used! there were a few Proto mixed in as well as a P&C. Very since this box matches my big tool box! out the door with it and an /SK box full of goodies for $40!

also got these pliers and a drag link socket from Flea bay today!

The 1/2" pieces don't match any set that I could find. It's missing a few pieces of the 5400-B, but it has a lot more pieces as well. With all of the sockets (assuming what I see is 1/2"), it would be closer to the 5400-OC, but also missing some parts. How many different 1/2" drive sockets did you get?

Here's a few more Plomb parts, with some eye candy in the background.

It has mostly 1/2 sockets (9 of them) a proto LA 1/2 drv extention, a very nice 1/2 ratchet, and a few 3/8 plomb and proto sockets, along with a 9/32 extension and a few sockets.

heres the ratchet and sockets, and the top down configuration on the box.. its got the early Plomb logos like my 9998 box. Ive always heard that meant that its pre ww2?

and killer eye candy!! 3 dues set up?!?! and those Plomb sets and rolls are awesome!!! I turned around and shot you a little eye candy as well from RagtopTA's garage : )

OMT & RAG: PLVMBGASM!!!

hot rods and plvmb tools what a great combo and i'm hoping others will do the same. and of course you both can post other angles of your rides with more plvmb tools, signs or badges.

thank you!!

TWERTSY: so i have to ask are you going to start a MUSEUM or what's the goal?

i've always liked your attitude to find and buy quality tools and i can't recall asking if there was a purpose other than just owning them?

also since you might not sell anything while you are alive can you give your wife my email in case one of those toolboxes or cars falls on you?

cheers

Myself I love owning and using the old Plomb tools on the three 1927, and 1930 hot rods we are building. It just feels right!

You're missing a few pieces to have a 5400-B set. You got a smokin' deal - and nice car! I don't know if you could see under the three deuces, but there's a nitrous plate under each one.

I've actually been trading a lot of stuff off, as well as selling some stuff. Initially my collection centered around documenting and providing examples for the history of tools. While I'll still pick up "off brands" or oddball tools that are needed for that purpose, I've been narrowing down the brands I collect. My "collection" focus centers around Plomb, Bonney and pre-NB Blackhawk. Some secondary brands that I always pick up are Bog and Truth. I'll also pick up examples of tools manufactured by the above companies for other brands. C- cman, circle U cman, etc.

I picked up some tools that fit this thread at an estate sale yesterday, a few of which will be making their way to a certain shop in VA.
