Plomb 3061 DOE. $10 is more than I am accustomed to spending for a used wrench, but something told me not to walk away from this one.

Hell I will give you $20 for it if you have buyer's remorse [emoji3] and pay shipping.

I wanted to but I was tired out from carrying about 25lbs of tools on my back in a little back pack . I will next year though ! How are prices over in the convention center ? I would think they would be more than at the track ?

Scored all this at the pir swap meet....I did buy extras of tools so I will inventory everything and post an extras list here for everyone to see

Did score a 1061 offset done which is a 1 1/4 x 1 7/16 which is the same size as the one Brian found but different wrench construction . Also scored a carbon scraper and a few Firestone tools !

Interesting , I had no clue these wrenches are so valuable. I picked up these 5 wrenches $10 for the lot a little bit ago and gifted it to my father in law.

I think a better word would be "collectible". The smaller, common sizes are not all that valuable or rare. It's the big boys that are hard to come by

Just picked up a bunch of assorted Plomb/Proto stuff from an old neighbor. I had lusted after his 2041 puller after it was able to remove a stubborn axel from one of my Vws like it wasn't even there. He called a few weeks ago and said "we're moving into assisted living, I can't use any of this stuff anymore". Sadly I went over and took/paid him for whatever I wanted. I'd of been satisfied with just the puller. I have no idea what all is in the many tool boxes he gave me. They all say Plomb.

I will be looking for a case for the 4021 since it only came in an old paint can. Anyone have one they would like to part with?

Here is a pic of what the tool/box combo should look like. I'll post pics of the haul when I get some time.

Thats an awesome story! To get the stuff form the old guys specially if they are the original owner is so cool! Cant wait to see the rest of your haul!

Here is some Proto LA that has been collecting in my garage.

Good buncha LA stuff! I like it as well. Anytime I find a wrench or anything I grab it!

I hear you on the sadly, but the old timer will probably rest easier knowing his tools are in good hands. The medium puller set that is showing is a 4020A or 4020B. The 4020C had a pair of 5" cap screw jaws (part number 4025).

I'll second RagTop - can't wait to see the other stuff. If it's from the same era, appears to be late 1940's.

I may actually have an extra puller box. I'll check when I get back to the shop.

He tried to just give them to me (he has no idea about tools or their value) after I saved him from selling probably $5000 worth of snap-on for $250 to someone else. I got everything for $45. He was happy and so was I.

I got lucky last night. Bought these from a co-worker who just bought a house and contents. These were in the basement along with a goldmine in snap-on tools. The place was a mess BAD. Hope to turn up more when i get to go back.

Jesting aside, I do have quite a few pebbles on the smaller side you may need to get close to finishing that set. Please pm me if you are interested. Great finds! :rocker:

so.... should there be a Buy,Sale,or Trade Plomb Tools thread? Or is there one I don't know about ? It may be easier to have its own thread than to have adds lost in this thread. What do you guys think? We could put all our extras in there to help each other out and be a little more organized ?

I would like a plvmb for sale thread in the vintage tool area . We would have to get the mods to approve it since there is already a general classifieds section . Are there any mods here who can approve this ? I would be willing to start it and I am thinking we would limit it to plvmb, proto l.a. And p&c ... Since this is the vintage section and the newer proto ,challenger and fleet could go in the general classifieds. What do you guys say ?
