I found these Plomb items at an estate sale on Thursday. The ratchet is a WF38 that’s had a hard life.

Safely in the museum, missing a drawer. Most of the tools we're Herbrand. Extension has no maker mark, but FSN 41B-311-500...
IndestroNice! What's the brand on the looooonnnng yellow handled screwdriver?
Indeed it is. The same FSN/tool. Only the second one I have ever seen now.I had that same extension that I traded to Lugz. It is a FSN we never did find the OEM on it.
Please post a photo, Outlaw. Maybe in the Herbrand thread? I am looking at it in the catalog, but it's just not the same as seeing it in the steel. Might could be a Herbrand with a simpler design. As Roy said, we were never able to match it up with anything. EDIT: The female end and the grip sure look the same. That flanged male end is the issue. That's a spinner grip extension, right?
I have a similar one only it has a flange on the male end, Mine is marked:
Herbrand Van-Chrome [ grip ] No. S-29 Made in U.S.A.
Yup, that flange at the drive end is typical of Herbrand, mine doesn't have that. I snag up all the extensions I see with the spinner but haven't come across a Herbrand yet. Nice piece!Pic of my Herrbrand spinner:

Very nice set. Always a sucker for the 5 bands. Is it a complete set?Picked up a 1941 plomb 3/4 drive set from a retired plant mechanic.
Nice set, Oldtuleguy. I count 17 sockets and an adapter? Nice to see them all together, and not a mix and match.
I need to take the time to clean mine up and ebay them. Mine only has 9 sockets, and one is a Plomb but 2 band instead of 5. Must have been sitting for 50 years; they're brown but clean up in minutes to nice, I did one to see.

They are both Indestro.I thought that question was referring in the Niehoff screwdriver at the bottom of this picture. Here is my Niehoff marked feeler.

If your not selling the sockets as a set let me know. I would love to fill some gaps in my set.Nice set, Oldtuleguy. I count 17 sockets and an adapter? Nice to see them all together, and not a mix and match.

Spotted this online and immediately thought "ho-hum, yawn, another 9/32 Plomb kit, but priced ok.". Then I looked a bit closer and noticed the -S. All 1/4" drive.![]()

Pardon my ignorance, but what does the "S" stand for? I've never seen one on a WF Plomb.
Plomb made a bunch of 9/32" drive WF 8 ratchets and very few WF 8-S ratchets that were 1/4" drive and to find a set is almost unheard of. That was a great find.

Maybe special. I know like WF-38-T is another concept of the dash. This one more than likely stands for torque.Don,
I can definitely be a little dense at times. I still don't understand what the "S" signifies. ??
Thanks!
It probably is special. I just think of it referring to the unusual 1/4" drive size. Most of the WF Midget tools are 9/32" drive. It's kind of ironic that the WW2 Army aircraft Midget tools are generally 9/32" drive but the Navy called for 1/4" drive NAF Midget tools.

I have 3 of them now, 1948, 41 and a smaller late 30s or so. I am a sucker for the heavy line stuff.
Just remember I can fix your problemI don't think of myself as a collector, although I sometimes accumulate too much stuff. I've almost got rid of all my Plomb stuff accumulations. After posting pictures of my 3/4" drive stuff and saying I need to get rid of it, I ran into a full set today, in the box, and bought it. I think it will mix and match with what I already have to make a real nice and complete set. I think it has 15 or 16 5 line Plomb sockets in good conditions, along with some mismatched ones, a newer chrome pebble Plomb ratchet like new, a round handle Plomb breaker, and Plomb extensions. All in a decent green Plomb box. I need to have my head examined sometimes!

Just remember I can fix your problem. If you have extra you are looking to part with send me a PM and I would gladly look.
Thanks

Looking for the following Plomb Pebbles Wrenches 3061, 3070,
Thank you.I'll get there eventually, and send you a list!
Here's a photo album of the marriage today. Like most marriages with extended family members, it may not come out as good as it looks like it will before the marriage.
New set I got today consisted of a nice box, 20 sockets, ratchet, 2 extensions and a breaker bar.
Old set was 9 sockets and a ratchet.
Went through the new stuff vs what I already had, and was disappointed. Only one non-duplicate. Missing 1 3/16", and 1 5/16" is a 3 line, not 5 line. All the rest of my old sockets are duplicates. Only could use the 1 1/2".
So, photo's show the two families, the lone transplant into the new blended family, the ratchet trade into the new family with the new family, the rejects/duplicates/mismatch from the new sockets, and the non-usable from the old sockets.
Ended up with a new blended family of box, 17 sockets, ratchet, breaker bar and one extension. Breaker bar isn't a pebble, and needs to be to match the ratchet.
So, a somewhat disappointing marriage. I was hoping to end up with a wonderful, collectible set out of it, but just ended up with another box full of old tools instead.
I don't have an extra one in that size. I will send you PM and some pics tomorrow. That's funny Roy, I have the 1-1/4, the 1-3/4, 1-7/8, and the 2" extra.
You don't have a 1-13/16", do you? Mine has been lathe turned thinner at the top.
