Recently was able to replace my stand in P&C WF-89 with the first Plomb branded WF-89 I think I've ever seen. This one looks unused. Now to just find the elusive WF-86 and I'll have all the DBE's. First pic shows the new Plomb wrench, last photo includes the stand in P&C.

Nice work dewayne. I agree on the WFs anything over the 85 is rare.

Also nice set of water pump wrenches. Those are very hard to come by as well.

Thanks Roy. I think an 86 showed up online a year ago or so, but I missed it. One will show up eventually. I think I'm missing 3 of the water pump line wrenches.
Including the 3 unknown assumed ones 105,106, and 110?

I have to say when I lived in SD I never saw one. Plomb had some sort of distribution center in Tucson at some point so they do turn up here in Arizona .

Haha nice. Last year I found my first tool box other than a socket case. It was down in central nebraska.

I found this A. Plomb wrench at an old car swap meet Sunday. It is an interesting design. It isn't "ratcheting" since you have to reverse your direction a little to let it go to the next grip.

It seems to me to be a try at a tubing wrench that could be removed from a tighter spot that the traditional design. It seems not to be "field modified" because of the thicker working end and the fact that the surfaces of the opening are finished the same as the rest of the wrench.

The markings might indicate that it was made either before Alphonse's connection to California Tool Company, or soon thereafter, as there is no marking connecting to CTC.

It makes me want to start a thread for A. Plomb tools.

It looks like a field modified flare nuts and open end to me. I have seen an A Plomb version of this wrench before.

I agree with Roy. Here are some pictures of the two I’ve had. They look like earlier versions of the later Snap-on flare nut wrenches that are my favorites.

I found this plain steel Ell on eBay to replace the shorter, unmarked, possibly prewar Ell in my wartime 1/2” drive toolset.

Laundry room converted into a workspace.
I'm quite jealous of all y'all west coasters. It is quite difficult to find Plomb or Proto over here in Dreary Erie. Mostly random sockets and yellow acetate screwdrivers and occasionally wrenches.

Thanks, Guys! The Ell isn’t listed as part of the 5400-OC set but I think it’s an appropriate extra.
Outlaw, here is mine posted back in #4029. I went to an estate sale once not far from the Chevron refinery in Richmond and found four pairs of Chevron marked Channellocks.

I cleaned up a pebble combo I found at the flea over the weekend and dressed up and sharpened the 1934 cold chisel as well.

Found these three pieces in two different estate sales last week. They ratchets are kind of crusty but both work well. Ratchets were $1.00 each, combo was 25 cents.

I added a few more this weekend. Including a some WF 3/8" drive sockets that pushed me just under 1,150 pieces and 600 unique items.

You did good. Those appear to be the earlier pebble ratchets that are either raw steel or nickle plated.

Been collecting some 3/8 ratchets. I like the knurled handle variety the best. Something about the patina usually. I do have a pebble handle removable plug type also.

Funny thing though, the WF-21 has peeling chrome. Does anybody have any WF-21 examples. I’m sure it’s been discussed but was wondering why they would have been chrome. Early war?

Found a couple odd things at the flea market this morning. A WF-5, a Proto LA 3/8" 8 Pt #7412-S 1/2" drive socket, a SR marked 1/2" drive 12 pt 1 1/16" socket, and a P&C marked WF-19. I have found large DBE P&C marked WF tools before, but this is the first smaller drive tool marked like this I've found. Does anyone need the Proto LA socket? I can't remember who all is looking for Proto LA stuff.

Cool. Here is the 3/8” pebble handle removable plug version, as well as a 1/4” 4749 that was missing parts so I installed a 3/8 kit.

Nice 3bay.

I added 4 more wrenches that I didn't have already. Unique wrench count at 299 pieces!
3 O series Does dating 1928 and 1929. The O1920 I think is the largest of the O series wrenches.
A WF DOE which is a first for me.

Total Plomb Count 1151IMG_20190703_184712659.jpegIMG_20190703_184719523.jpegIMG_20190703_184724085.jpeg

#bay, I didn't;t notice the 3/8" up grade to the old 1/4" I like it! especially since it was wasted otherwise!

Have to remember that!
