I remember someone talking about that set when it was for sale. I'd like to hear some more about that winged creature stamped 18? Is it Plomb? The patina looks right.
I do like tools

Ah, I remember that now. We were wondering if those big ears were the business end, with the square being the male drive end, or whether you turned those big ears like a wingnut or a key.No consensus was reached on its purpose

WWII-era Plomb tools found in the UK, stamped with an AE-part number prefix.
Could they perhaps be Allison Engine (like V-1710) tools?![]()
Seems to be very similar to "flag driver" some of the euro tool makers like Wera have them for hex and torx keys.Ah, I remember that now. The only reference I have seen in on Vannatta Bros with a possible reference to Allison Engines.WWII-era Plomb tools found in the UK, stamped with an AE-part number prefix.

(Paraphrasing Jeff Foxworthy)
Well done. We need more bragging like this. Love seeing what other people are finding. That curved chisel (maybe caulker) looks early.Plomb/ Proto la finds from today.. high lights include 3/4 drive hinge handle, dual mark pipe wrench and combo wrench. Sr deep socket and rough dual tip hammer. Not cleaned up yet but they should turn out ok!

I totally agree with whatever that was you just said!
If you are posting a dual marked wrench should it go in the Plomb thread or the Proto thread? I found this today.

Looking good. This 1/2” drive 5/8” deep socket (without crossbar hole) rolled in from an eBay seller to fill a hole in my wartime 1/2” drive set.

The toolbox looks amazing. Decal is in great shape.
I have resorted to buying tools and flipping them to raise money to source my gaps in my sets. Here is some more gap fillers.
All LA except the 1210 which should be an LA juding by the date code. Maybe they ran out of room for the stamp on such a small wrench.

Both of course!![]()
I moved to tubes early on and haven't looked back. Most tools have a shape that works well with the tube shape. I recently upgraded from a 2" to a 6" PVC pipe.Makes sense to me so I took your advice.
Here is a 1939 Plomb 1145 I found yesterday. This one was my first try in my new evaporust sewer pipe tube and it worked really well. The wrench was super rusty when I started.

In a P&C box!
Is that a good thing?
Extensions are not Plomb. curious about the sockets.
As said the P&C box is early. Is that extension P&C?

A 1"!?! Didn't know there is an open gear that big.I have the exposed gear P&C ratchet that probably goes in that box...
