Plomb wrench very rough
Hey gang
I picked up a Plomb wrench at the surplus store in Denver, and didn't notice the rough finish, as I was wearing gloves. Got it to the hotel, and noticed it is almost prickly, as if it wasn't finished (2nd largest lower right).
How would one reasonable clean this up? (I'm guessing it may have been a production reject for some reason.) There is major excess around the 3/4" jaw.
The sides of the jaws aren't polished like the Thorsen above it, so I assume progressively higher sandpaper grits until I hit scary sharp's mirror finish. The shank gets a wire wheel, buffer, powered scotchbrite disk? Any reasonable suggestions welcomed.

You would have better luck in the Midwest with your fishing lure at swap meets where plomb isn’t as plentiful [emoji23] in the northwest, not as much because there is so much around.

I can’t exactly tell from the picture but it looks like it might be cad plated. If so, the best course of action would be to leave it just as you found it. That stuff is dangerous when it starts flying around.

So, the Custom Plomb Contraption is Done!! But...... I may have a few Plomb items to post. Over the last few weeks I have picked up a couple sets of Plomb Impact sockets. 3/4 and 1/2 drv. A crazy offset driver, couple adjustables ones a grind off with 2nd stamped into it. A 1oz Paschall . Some wrenches including a Ranger. Twin 5251 ratchets ine with a 3/4 socket. Couple of breakers one being transition and other assorted stuff!!

So here it is... My Custom Plomb Contraption!! I had a few broken pieces of Plomb and thought to myself . " Self what can we make out of these parts ....??" Here I introduce you to the newest member of the Plomb familly . Hopefully PLUMB doesnt sue me over this . The green stripe is paint I had matched from a Paschall hammer handle, and identifies this CPC as a Hammer. The handle , **** cap, and ferrel come from a large driver, the shank from a large broke DBE wrench, the ball pein head is a Paschall of course, topped off with a Plomb logo cut from a crusty donor wrench. Thanks to Unaiu for sending the donor driver, and to everyone thats played along and took guesses. Smoke hit the nail on the head! I introduce the new A51 Plomb Hammer I shall call her CC Daville. Date code is CC ; )
