Just the boxes. They were wrapped in mylar blueprint drawings. These and many other boxes and tools stored away over 45 years ago. My grandson says there are over 400 drawers in the dozens of tool boxes, mostly full of Snap~on tools. I saved them away when I went overseas in the 70s, had been my Father's and Grandfather's.

Oh wow. Those look like they are in really great shape. That dual marked one is definitely uncommon! Looks to have survived fairly well because you wrapped them up years ago

Picked up this uncommon weirdo off the reject pile. Anyone notice anything amiss? Never plated or finished so probably plucked off the line.
Manufactured to make this; no need finish both ends!plombhammer.jpg

Wow, I managed to lose the Alerts to this one almost a month ago!

Cool 1" ratchet! Much nicer than mine.

In the *** drive in theme - San Jose CA had a drive-in that did nothing but X rated for several decades before it was finally torn down Huge tall fences of corrugated sheets, (probably war surplus roofing) attempted to keep it visually blocked. It had an older trailer park just across the street. You just know the sound still was audible.

I found this little war-time 5270 U-joint today, floating in a big bin of sockets.

The 3/4" drive PROTO PROFESSIONAL impact sockets were in there too.

Got another first gen 40s tool mobile last night. This is my 4th I own currently. This one's really complete with the lock bar. Drawer dividers, piston rack, and tray that sits on drawer sides that I've never seen before. No damage and all drawer rollers work as they should. Only thing missing is the key.

Well, theatergoers tend not to want to listen to old folks, it breaks the spell.

To get back on track, I have two Tool Mobiles, neither have the lower tray and only one has the lock bar. On the other hand, both my Pressteel boxes have the tray.

Todays estate sale find. Along with tons of other tools but no other Plomb. Thought this was pretty cool. I seen it was Plomb and grabbed it. $1. Thanks to my best friend for telling me about the sale it was his friends dad and they didn’t advertise it was just signs up so I never go to the side of town it was on hardly so I never would’ve known about it. Going home now to get my truck to pick up the toolbox I bought. All will be posted in the garage sale thread tonight or tomorrow probably.

Great find! and its LA to boot! Smoke.. I see you licking your chops over there! hahaha I have a couple of these. One is a Proto version, looks Identical that my grandfather bought new in the late 40s when he opened his Auto motive store. They used it out back in the shop part where they changed tires, put on exhaust, and other automotive work. that thing has great patina also.
