Here's his plomb proto cousin
Here is another.
How long are those? It's interesting how think the shank got and how much longer they look. This one is 3-1/2" OAL.
Absolutely a difficult one to find especially in that shape. Looks like you have it described by its genus/ species
Definitely going for the entomological analogy! :)
It's not really that shiny is it? You just did an aluminum foil overlay, right?
A plated subspecies, for sure, that was difficult to photograph it's so shiny.

Two more cousins attending the family reunion.

A (4th of?) July, '43 WAR FINISH example; along with a chrome plated plain shank. (Both 3-1/2" long).

Which bring the total to five different sub-species of 1210 wrenches.

Here's another little WAR FINISH wrench; an 1122 from March, '43.

Here are my two plomb files. The bigger one is like new. MB10 and HRB11. Interesting that on the MB10, where its stamped Plomb, who ever stamped it actually put a U then over struck it with an O after wards. There are no other markings on the file.

Got my swap meet finds from last month finally cleaned up. Even though the pebbles are rough I needed them. Don’t find many of the pebble doe’s.

Here are a few bits that are fresh out of the Evaporust. The big 1150 pebble has possible the most obnoxious owner's mark I've ever seen. Not sure what would drive someone to do this? Thankfully the smooth 1150 is in much better shape, either the 1135 or 1131 is war finish, can't remember which. Then a little pebble 3026 and beat up 3020 DOE. Can't recall what the socket was.

It was a happy day.

Was at a crazy busy barn sale that had a LOT of stuff. It was literally elbow to elbow and people were grabbing things as fast as they could. Had everything from wigs to wagon wheels to a home-made slicer made out of ammo cartridge casings.

I was grabbing what I could, anything that looked interesting. I saw the smallest crow bar I had ever seen, and since prices were good and it was cute, I threw it in my goody bag.

Got it home and cleaned it up, and what do I see on the side? PLOMB T M. !!

Dang, not real common to see. You draw a pretty significant vacuum for that!

Speaking of little buggers, I spotted this little 4751 as a throw in with a prewar S-K 1/4” drive set on eBay. Most of the ones I’ve run across have had broken dogs so I was pleasantly surprised that this one functioned perfectly. I was able to clean it up pretty well. The S-K set required some cleanup as well.1FD1C36F-8EF5-4826-A60A-364D56F111CD.jpeg307ACF18-DF08-4D33-BC3C-E5F6C1BA9F73.jpeg83F17C74-F14A-474B-828E-DD297EB14BE8.jpeg45D11AC5-1EF3-43CE-A1F1-AB231A740EE2.jpeg

I overpaid for this but I hadn’t seen one before except in catalogs. It will be going into my Plomb based GMTK as a 41-F-862 10" ******* File.

Great find.

Is this stamped with a round "O" because it is that old, or is it because the file was made by another company that didn't have the tool to stamp an inverted triangle?

Based on the markings on my and RagtopTA’s files, I assume that Plomb was sourcing their files from a file manufacturer, probably in rather small lots based on the markings appearing to have been done by hand. They probably didn’t have the tooling necessary to mark the PL∇MB

I agree with this. I think who ever stamped the MB10 of mine used a U then realized they made a mistake and used an O. Maybe a new trainee file maker : }
