Here is my dual mark board I made. Yes the sticker is dual marked 😎. The long pattern wrenches are in the back and the standard length combo wrenches are in front. Then this picture inside my tool mobile shows all my dual marked tools I have accumulated over the years(not many). And lastly, my most uncommon dual mark tool- this unfinished and never broached combo wrench. Somehow it made it out of the factory ( probably in someone’s lunch box?).

Probably the finest looking piece of Plomb I own. I lucked into this one in a mixed socket set at an affordable price.

5251 3/8” drive

Great comparison post. That’s in nice shape too. Mine also has an attached plug. No ON/OFF marks so maybe that was an improvement. Round O vs inverted triangle. Wouldn’t they be 1933 and 1936?

This morning’s estate sale produced a few Plomb tools. The oddest was this large 3/8” drive spark plug socket. I haven’t seen many 1-1/8” spark plugs recently.2C039EC2-731E-459F-BFFA-C2CD931C2BD3.jpeg832A154F-01F8-4C1C-AA39-ED9304A305DF.jpeg8CFFE754-E803-4E0D-802A-A04CF49F6D27.png

Here is a long punch that a previous owner put a point on. I plan to get rid of the point. B2B8F82C-C999-4B3D-A042-F15947399BF1.jpegD506FD14-7878-4A17-A172-A7FFB9E93D42.jpegCA0CEA70-22CE-45BE-B1F2-1F1321EE81AE.jpeg
I found this nice pebble DOE. It’s likely in better condition than the one I have. 5C70389D-F24C-4536-849C-1216543387E5.jpeg8314072F-D4A2-4DE3-A304-FAC1C4687DCF.jpeg

I believe that Model A Ford spark plugs had 1-1/8 hex. They were 7/8 -18 thread size.

Interesting that they had the rubber insert in 1940, something that Snap-On, Herbrand, Bonney, and no other manufacturer of which I am aware had at that time.

The surprising thing is that the rubber insert is perfectly intact in the socket. In more modern sockets it seems to be missing about half the time. I checked and Provincial is correct on the Model A Ford spark plug size. I remember that the plugs were large on my Model A but I didn’t remember the exact size.

Proportionally it seems very short compared to other spark plug sockets. I’ll measure it when it comes out of the evaporust today. I wonder if the open ends on these large Ford wrenches may have been 1-1/8” for spark plugs. I think I must have sold these off a while back.

The Model A spark plugs were out in the open, but with the horns of the distributor cap above them, and wide open access from the sides, damaged plugs were very rare, and usually the result of sloppy mechanics.

In case you didn’t want to pay $230.00 for the booklet, I copied down the images that the seller posted in the listing. I feel like I’ve seen them before.
