plumbing help...shower diverter

I have brand new out of the box Moen boardwalk shower set.

first time out of the box in stalled right the hot water side would only dribble out

pull the cartridge and both the hot and cold side flowed fine.

got a replacement cartridge (had to pay for it)

this time the cold side would only dribble out...

could I have gotten two bad ones???

Is the cart in correctly ? Hot and cold both on all the way (at the stops)?

It sounds like it the tempature limit may be in wrong. It should be the white piece that slips over the cartridge and under the handle. Try the valve without it, then check the instructions and how to adjust it. I install a few moens a year. I know how to do it but I doubt I could explain it.

yes the cart was in correctly. and the hot and cold on all the way...

we did not have the limiter on yet we were double checking the sweats and don't have the wall on yet so it's open to the studs we just slipped the handle on to open the valve..
