Plumbing/water softener question

Once again tapping into the collective knowledge here.

I recently installed a water softener in my house. It did already have one so this is a new install vs a replacement. The water softener has a valve body similar to/same as this one
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074DQ96JM/?tag=atomicindus08-20

My question is how do I create a leak free joint between install adapters
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074DPX93C/?tag=atomicindus08-20
and my pex lines?
This is the pex to npt fitting I'm using
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZS7BWSP/?tag=atomicindus08-20

I bought 3/4" pex to 1" NPT female adapters. I used Teflon tape on the threads but not the faces of the plastic parts. Do I need to use pipe dope instead?

I also think I have a leak where the control valve body attaches to the fiber tank. So far this install has been frustrating

Suggestions are welcome. BTW, the softener is a cabinet style similar to this
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BT9UCMM/?tag=atomicindus08-20 but mine is the 40,000 grain version.

If you did not put enough tape it will leak. Put it on Thick...
If not tape'n use RECTO SEAL 5 and let it dry for a few days

I also think I have a leak where the control valve body attaches to the fiber tank.
it might leak with out PSI on it at first but once you turn water on the first time it should seal well.
But getting that manifold to sit correctly is the Key..at least on mine.(lines were pushing down on manifold)

You may have to use a copper fitting going on the bypass then your Pex fitting?
I use Blue Monster Pipe Sealant and never have leaking issues. It can be hard to find I would think most supply houses would stock it or Amazon.

I thought about that but my leak is not the brass to pex but the brass to GE fitting. I will try adding more plumbers tape just in case but I was wondering if perhaps an O-Ring or similar was needed. I've also thought about getting some flex hoses since the pex lines are rather stiff and put a moment on the plastic parts where they go into the water softener.

I have the same softener....but I’m copper pipe. I used flexible brained hose and a Shark fitting

Good to hear. I just bought a set. The funny thing is the Amazon reviews had a picture using the same manifold I'm dealing with.
