The way it's currently plumbed it's not a practical option to do that. I think just going with 3/4" piping will make enough difference that it'll work good enough. The piping runs alongside the wall right now, like 2ft up. Haven't decided just yet if I'm going to put it up against the ceiling and building a chaseway, or run it along the floor upstairs.

Propex is fine for DIY if you have access to all the correct piping, rings and fittings. The manual expander is easy to use if you have the space to use it, during rough-in for example. Milwaukee’s M12 is the best bet if space is tight. Supplyhouse.com is an excellent source for Uponor’s propex system and carries everything needed if you can source locally.

Shipping from them is expensive.

Make sure you use pex a and the plastic fittings if you use the metal fittings on the 3/4 they will restrict the flow back to a 1/2 pipe. Not sure if it's true but that's what I've been told

It’s labeled as 5/8” by some companies so it isn’t confused with regular PEX. It is 1/2” and is for heating systems, not domestic water use.
Normal PEX is oxygen permeable allowing very small amounts into the system which can cause rust and corrosion in pumps and other components. Oxygen barrier PEX stops the problem.
I appreciate the answer but since tap water already contains a bunch of oxygen does it matter?

The oxygen barrier reduces rust and corrosion in ferrous pumps and equipment. Regular PEX is fine if you are using stainless steel pumps and equipment.

I'm at work. Fly out to Alaska north slope, stay for 3 weeks, then fly home and there for 3 weeks.

Ordered the kit from Coastal Tool. With the shipping it was about $390, though they said if it happened to fit in a flat rate the shipping would be a bit less.

I have a PEX crimper, but the fittings really reduce the flow. I got it because it was cheap when I added an outdoor faucet in my house. I just had 1 90* in that run though and it was maybe 10ft total too.

The shop apartment has quite a few fittings. They did away with using some by making giant loops, like for the water filter. Yeah....
I'm going to pull it all out and fix it to the best of my ability.
It'd be stupid to burn up a well pump or barely be able to wash my hands after flushing the toilet just over saying a few hundred $$s.
Ordered kit from Coastal tool on 27 Jul, haven't gotten it yet. Should have been here 2 weeks ago easily.

Strange thing is I can't find any emails from them with the order info. I swear it was there, but now it's not. Going crazy or something!

Show a call to them on the 27th when I ordered, and my card was charged.

Called them and no option to even leave a message, just says "we are closed" and hangs up.

If you get 3/4 pipe and use the plastic fittings they reduce the flow rate down to the size of a 1/2 pipe always use the brass fittings

Stay on them. I broke down and ordered from them as well and it arrived timely.
