I wanna say it was like 2 for 10 bucks. I've had it maybe a year and have not broken it but I don't think I'll ever have to warranty the snap on. When I had them both in my hand I figured a size comparison would be nice for the people complaining about 13 bucks for one.

Just two months ago, I got two for $8.55 -- with tax -- from Amazon. Gato Tools. They're cheap stuff, like all the other freebie giveaway screwdrivers, but I don't plan to do anything heavy duty with mine.

I got green ones but now the blue ones are even cheaper, $6.99 for two.



I got motivated to buy it because I'd watched Rainman Ray on YouTube all summer using his bright-handled green one for a zillion little tasks.

I'm pretty sure his was a Snap On freebie giveaway, and I checked the Snap On website, researched pocket screwdrivers here at GJ, and got the impression that these were a freebie giveaway that they wouldn't even give a part number to, not found in the product listings.

Well, that has changed! Kudos to SO for keeping the price sensible.

I carry a tweaker (small flat head) in my pocket daily at work. 99% of the time my tweaker is used for things other than flat head screws and usually is bent from using it as a pry bar. I'm going to give these a try, the thicker shank should hold up better. I wish they had them in power blue though I'll settle for black. Being a snapon my guy will warranty it for me when it looks like a banana or when I break the tip off. I'll ask him to stock some spare tips because I'm sure he'll be changing them out for me.

Nope, power blue is much more manly than powder blue and my color lol. All of my hard handle snapon stuff is power blue besides my straight pry bars and pocket pry bars which are black because you can't get them in blue. Not that it really matters though it's nice everything matches and everyone knows the blue junk is mine if I misplace it.

I keep my pocket pry bar in a pocket with an 8" adjustable, small knipex, a utility knife, and a torch striker. When I was carrying a freebie snapon pocket screw driver with a magnet on it the magnet was a pain in the ****. I would go to grab my adjustable wrench and the screw driver had just enough gravitational pull to hang on the adjustable to make it out of my pocket and proceeding to go into orbit as soon as it cleared my pocket. Magnets on pocket screwdrivers or pry bars aren't for me. If you actually clip it to your pocket you probably wouldn't have the issues with gravity I had.

My perfect pocket pry bar would be a striking pry bar. The little orange snapon pocket flat heads do not like being used as a punch of chisel. So far the snapon pocket pry bar hasn't started retreating into the handle after hitting on it though I'm sure it will at some point.

I've not found SO but I haven't bought a red shop rag in a few decades...

What I love is finding things by the side of the road that make you wonder who, when, how. Spark plugs, maybe. Brake pads, most of all!

I just bought the Mac set today, have a new Mac driver we haven’t had one stop since I started working here almost 9 years ago.

I bought them through Mac instead of Amazon for the warranty more than anything (I’m generally not a fan of the tool trucks) $24 for the two piece set, think it’s $31 at full price.

Checked with a coworker who uses them a lot to make sure they were worth buying and he said they were a good bit stronger than the pocket screwdrivers everybody likes.

I personally think a square shaft is better but, then you're limited to the MAC & Mayhew versions as everyone else uses round stock. Then again, with an overall length of less than six inches, it might not make that much of a difference whether the short shaft is square or round.

When I saw pocket prybars I thought this thread would be going in a different direction. I've been carrying this little pry bar for a few years now. Its made from A2 steel, keeps me from prying on **** and abusing my knife. I'd be lost with out it.

I had picked up the Matco 3pc set when they came out, work as intended. I'd bet Lang is the OE for them based on the pictures. Also have a couple of the Snap-on, the blade is about the same on either brand, near identical I think. Both are a bit thicker then I'd like for some things, still nice to have though.

Previously to buying the truck branded one I picked up a pair of the Gato's off Amazon, the blade is about 1/2 the size of the truck brands and hold up far better than expected. I did chip the edge of one doing something but it still works. These are better for electrical connectors IME. I still use the mini Craftsman flat screwdriver for some things as well.

I am usually grabbing it, tossing it in my pocket, running off to use it and then bringing it back, so not a true all day pocket carry.

I do really like it and use it regularly.

So far so good with these. I put them through a lot. Hope O’Reilly’s picks them up since they carry some Mayhew stuff already. Going to try Lang’s next so I can have some with pocket clips. Agree with others that if somebody made a version with striking caps I’d be all over it

This is the closest I have. It's not collectable or a conversation piece but it's a very useful tool to have nearby.

Looks like a metal magery pry bar.

It is indeed a Metal Magery pry bar. Very slim and very stout.

Just a FYI, Metal Magery is a common brand name. The tool is more widely known as a 'Skin Wedge' and can be found in various brands at the usual places and aircraft tool suppliers. It's a very stout and useful tool especially for trim and plastic clips etc. At 7 or so inches long it's a little large to be considered a pocket tool.

I know this is an old question, but... for the same major cross-sectional dimension (.12" square and .12" diameter), length, and material, square is almost 70% stiffer and stronger than round. So square FTW. This is why I was really surprised to see Snap On make theirs with a round shaft.

I bought someoff ebay that was recommended by the flatrate master youtube channel. It had two prybars, i gave one to the master tech at shop I worked for before. I keepnthe other, i dony think i need snap on for this, if they make longer lengths, i am sure snap on can make them stronger and good. Kinda like their picks, i have set of the shorts and long pick( i have 2 sets of each) makes something very very easy.
