First time seeing the Wera bar.

I have that Wera. It is not a really strong pry bar. It is intended for electronics ( chips and such ). But it is handy for small parts loosening and maneuvering.

I would not try using it as a real pry bar such as the Snap On's, or a small screwdriver, or tack puller.

I have a couple of the Wiha versions; like you said they're very light duty and intended for removing electronic components from circuit boards; Wiha calls theirs a "chip lifter"

I'll jump in and say these mini prybars are handy tools. I just got a set of the Mayhews and some generic Amazon specials to throw in my road boxes. Really nice for electrical connectors where a straight flat blade won't work. These are a cheap tool that should last a lifetime that really makes life easier.

2 Mayhew and one Wera mini pry bars, overall length of 6". Tip width is 1/8". Paid $10 each.

IMG_2095.JPG

Those Mayhew bars look like they will be fun to clean dirt and mud out of the tiny grooves in the handle.

Going on my 3rd hitch without destroying a snapon pocket prybar. I'd have mangled 1-2 flat heads in the same time frame.

I ordered a 12 pack for Christmas presents for the crew a while back, I'm thinking they won't be here by Christmas.

Lang is in the game now too. Those look closer to the Snap On than anything else i've seen. 3/16" shank. Bent tip looks a bit more...well bent. I've been waiting on my Snap On ones for almost a year. Delay keeps getting pushed. I bought off the website though, so I'm thinking they have to service dealers first and I'll be in prybar purgatory forever lol

I have these Lang ones. They are spectacular. I wasnt sure about how handy they would be (as a DIY guy). They've proven to be very, very handy!

I use my Snap On version every day. Used it several times today in fact. I still carry a pocket screwdriver next to it and use that every day as well. Handy as hell indeed, for all sorts of uses.

I don't know what's going on with your order but I ordered multiple of each type in July and received them last month. Total time was approx 4 months. Maybe it was because I ordered Red which I assume is the most popular color.

Just got the Langs in to compare. Happy so far, did well for me pulling small waterjet parts out of 1/8” plate. A bit shorter, 5” overall length vs 6” for mayhew. Shank is 3/16” round stock vs mayhew’s 1/8” square shank. The tip profiles are also different, I can’t get a good photo of it but the langs are like a flat blade screwdriver and the mayhews have a little chisel edge.

Don’t know if this is legit, or fakes.631AF912-AECB-4B85-8D88-109E0FB13E22.png

Those are fakes.

Like someone mentioned above they just bought the same Pocket Prybar and customized it with the promotional printing of “Snap on.”

But in no way are they associated with Snap On.

I came across these when searching for Pocket Prybars and just ended up going with the 4pack for $8.95 from the member here.

They’re beefy. Just used one for the first time the other day.

I guess I was ahead of my time; I forged this little pry bar about 15 years ago from an old Allen wrench, 5/16” I think. About 5“ overall length, been handy over the years. The roughness is from the forging that I didn’t bother to clean up. Was finished on the belt sander. I don’t have a brightly colored handle though! 94C58CE2-432F-4AD7-8D82-90AE8C3B59DC.jpegFF9AE8E2-4D97-4162-9CF9-C235ACB07EF0.jpeg

I'm surprised Harbor Freight hasn't jumped on the pocket prybar bandwagon. Perhaps they're developing an ICON version :dunno:

This can be a study of how long it takes them to copy something new, and "hot", and then get it to market

I waited 6 to 8 months for mine, and I have a dealer. He couldn't get any either after he sold the ones he had.

I have a shoebox full of free pocket screwdrivers that I received from vendors over the years, some are even SnapOn. They get used for everything stated in all of the previous posts and even as screwdrivers. When my supply dwindles to under one hundred, maybe I'll consider purchasing this new gimmick.

Here's my snapon pocket pry bar after 3 months and either 42 or 56 12's in a mill at a gold mine. The tip is still straight and the shaft isn't bent. I give it no mercy, hit it with a hammer, and treat it as a full size prybar. It gets covered in everything including gold slurry and cleans up nice.

I bought 3 figuring I'd have to cycle them out to warranty them and that hasn't been the case so far.

Looks like Lisle jumped on the pocket pry bar wagon.

I don't care for the shiny slick plastic handles. I'd rather see some texture or graining like the MAC handles. Amazon shows these as being made in China. However, I do like that Lisle offers a 3/16 & 1/8 inch flat bar stock blade and that they didn't try to reimagine a regular pocket screwdriver.

I find that I don't use these often...unless i actually put them in my pocket. I use my SO picks constantly...

Lisle came out with theirs and completely sold out of them on Amazon. This was after CP The Tool Addict put out a video on them

I love CP’s videos. Such a disheveled mess sometimes….which normalizes everything.

Watching this video on the pocket pry bars and seeing just so many he has if this one type of tool…I’m always asking myself, where TF does he keep all his tools? He seems to have 7 or 8 of everything (ratchets withstanding…he probably has nearly 100 ratchets).

If your looking for those Metal Magery Sheet Metal Skin Wedges you can get a 3 pack for a VERY good price at Aircraft Tool Supply. I like this company a lot but I am not a plane guy!

Thin Stick.JPG

But 3 of these for $22 is a steal!! I have them and they are extremely useful too. That very thin tip is the key. I have slightly bent one tip but was able to tap it back into place.
3 Piece Skin Wedges

Heck this same set is $49 on Amazon!

I'm not sure I believe that. The blade is "shipped in from California"? Shipped after it gets off the freighter from China? They look identical to the generic China bars.

The question was asked and answered in the questions. The seller seems pretty adamant about it.

I picked up a 3 pack several months ago….gave one to my son. These are damned handy, as they have been used several times! 👍

I use a terminal screwdriver as a little pry tool on belting laces. They do a good job, but really aren’t a long term solution. I may order a couple of these, my only concern is them walking off at work. 😩

The newer snapon slip joint needle nose pliers are awesome for belt lacing and pins.

I use my screwdriver to align the laces when a new joint is being put together. I really over use it when taking an old lace apart. A lot of times I have to remove a lace from the belt that’s damaged. Tell how the slip joint needle nose are so useful? I’m working on laces belting several times a week.
