So my pole barn garage/shop is about 4 weeks out from being started, and Im trying to think of everything id like ahead of time. This will be my only Storage on my property, but here are my plans.
40x48x16
Laminated posts
15' lean to on each eave side
2 14x14 insulated o/h doors on gable end
1 3' man door
6" slab inside w/apron out front
Stone under the lean to's (will be trailer/tractor implement storage)
Eventually will build a loft area over the back of the shop, for storage, etc.
Will bring electric right from the transformer,thinking 200 amp should be plenty?
Going to put a 90* 3" conduit in back corner of slab, so I can run my water line up into the building from beneath. (Still trying to figure out if I can tie in a second pressure tank to my existing system)
Are post protectors worth it?
Also still trying to work out insulation ideas
So the main goal of this thread is, once you have completed your Building, is there anything you, thinking back, wish you would have done, or planned for?
