I have two manual ones. For easy jobs I have a home Depot special that has an integrated pole saw and lopper on the end of the pole. It goes from about 4 ft to about 8 ft and gets most of the easy jobs around the property. Round fiberglass pole, sloppy adjustment lock.
For high work I have a Barnel that adjusts from 7 - 1/2 ft to 19 ft. It's an oval cross-section aluminum pole in three stages and I can put a lopper or a saw on the end of it. Very secure locks. It was pricey, but so worth it vs getting on a ladder. And the saw is very aggressive , Japanese style teeth.
I also have a Black & Decker cordless hedge trimmer on a pole that's really wimpy and gutless but it's also about 10 years old. I don't use it enough to justify replacing it. Maybe 4-7 ft range.
