In the market for a new pole saw for my house. Need something pretty long (15’ or so). Does anybody make a battery operated one that long? If not, what are some good options for a manual one?

Just to clarify, you need to cut something 15 feet away, or you literally need the pole saw to be 15 feet long? I ask because my Dewalt is 10 feet long, but the advertised reach is 15 feet, with the assumption that you can hold it 5 feet off the ground.

I have to tell you, 10 feel long with all that weight out on the end can already feel a little squirly. Trying to imagine a 15 foot electric poll saw is crazy.

As stated, 15 feet is a long reach. If you need a pole saw to get that far out, I’d recommend the Fiskers—I have one and have used it at full length (16’) and it works pretty well. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Fiskars-Ex...ree-Pruner-and-Pole-Saw-and-Pruner/5001168233 In the powered category, I have the Stihl KMA135 Kombi system including the pruner and a carbon fiber extension. I don’t know total length, but the extension gives you another 3’ or so, and total length is around 10’ https://www.stihlusa.com/products/multi-task-tools/kombisystem-attachments/hthlcfkshaft/

I'm another happy fiskars user. At full extension, it's pretty wobbly, but it you let the saw do the work, it will make the cut.

I wouldnt go more than a 10ft pole.with a power saw

I have the milwaukee pole saw and I bought a second pole for it. Not sure exactly how long that makes it but I'm guessing close to 15'. It is unbalanced and I'm sure it's not great for the saw but for the occasional cut here or there it does fine. I wouldnt want to use it like that all the time.

Very happy with my EGO multi tool with pole saw attachment. I think the saw and pole and motor is 11' Motor and battery at base, saw at top. Pretty easy to handle. Use same motor with hedge trimmer and string trimmer.

I got the 7-14' fiskars recently. Very handy and light. Not sure it's the most robust thing made, but it was on sale and got my choice cuts done. Use it from a ladder for more reach

Stihl makes one. PP900 or similar model. Interchangeable lopping and cutting heads that mount on 6-ft orange fiberglass poles. Comes with 2 poles but you can add more. I've cut with up to four poles (24-ft long plus held 5ft off the ground) but it starts to get pretty floppy at that point.

I have two manual ones. For easy jobs I have a home Depot special that has an integrated pole saw and lopper on the end of the pole. It goes from about 4 ft to about 8 ft and gets most of the easy jobs around the property. Round fiberglass pole, sloppy adjustment lock.

For high work I have a Barnel that adjusts from 7 - 1/2 ft to 19 ft. It's an oval cross-section aluminum pole in three stages and I can put a lopper or a saw on the end of it. Very secure locks. It was pricey, but so worth it vs getting on a ladder. And the saw is very aggressive , Japanese style teeth.

I also have a Black & Decker cordless hedge trimmer on a pole that's really wimpy and gutless but it's also about 10 years old. I don't use it enough to justify replacing it. Maybe 4-7 ft range.
