Polishing a shell

While on vacation, the wife found this shell and this is(the side she wants polished.

I was hoping someone could give me an idea as to how to polish it up.

Define polished. How shiney we talkin here?

Can you just put some gloss clear on it?

Otherwise I would talk to a granite shop and see how they polish stone. I imagine shells are close enough to stone to use the same polishing media.

If you're just trying to make it look shiny, and it will be indoors, you might just spray it with clear gloss lacquer.

Look up rock tumblers... should work for shells also.

Look up rock tumblers... should work for shells also.

Would be interested to see the results.

I have a tumblers tumbler A-r2.

After a month of noise and constant monitoring you have results. Tumbling isn’t a set and forget operation; especially your first time.

Would be best to have shells of similar hardness to tumble with.
