Good point. These things are so cheap that many of us have several with various implements attached since it's faster and easier than switching.

Mine have been abused mercilessly and they refuse to die. I haven't killed one yet.

That said, some of HF's accessories, like their wire brushes, are pretty terrible. The cutting discs work pretty well.



Same goes for the corded reciprocating saw one can score for under $25. I bought one specifically to abuse by cutting out roots and trimming trees and brush. Lots of time down in the mud and dirt.

With a good DeWalt blade (HF's saw blades are worthless; NOT a bargain) this thing likewise refuses to die. I don't know how they do it.


And as someone mentioned earlier, there's a category of tools I would never own in a million years if I had to pay 5-10X the price to get the mainstream brand. The best example of this is my HF 20 ton hydraulic press. It's been insanely useful, but I would never have even considered owning a press for the $1,200+ a Dake, Westward, Sunex, etc. costs.
