Polyuera/polyaspartic floor problems/questions
I have some flooring questions as we seem to have a bunch of people knowledgeable with it here.
This is Polyurea with a polyaspartic top coat.
Last week we had our garage done by a local company that has a ton of great reviews and was also recommended to me by a friend that used them and was happy. The day after they did the top coat we noticed bubbles all over the floor forming. The general manager called and apologized and said they have had this happen once in the last year and they will see if they can spot fix them and if not then they will re do the entire floor. I also noticed some inconsistent coloring in the middle of the double bay where it looks like more of the base coat is coming through.
They came out on Friday and sanded/buffed and re did the topcoat. The pictures starting from the one taken from the back looking forward are what it looks like now after they did that. I now have some odd orange colors around where the drain is, looks like some missing chips by one of the saw cuts, ridges in parts of the floor (not sure if these were in the concrete to begin with though but I suspect its from grinding) and dimples where the bubbles were.
Also I feel like there are about 5 different textures going on throughout the garage now after the second coat between smooth, texture from the flake, what feels like sandpaper from tiny bubbles etc.
We talked to the general manager on Monday and sent him pictures and he was pretty dismissive about the spots where bubbles were saying “well they’re coated now so they’ll hold up” but was concerned about the orange spots and missing flakes. He said he was sending someone out to look at it this Friday again. At this point I’m not sure if I’m just expecting too much for having almost $4600 ******* with them.
I’m not sure “spot fixing” is possible at this point or if I should be pressing them to tear it all up. I spoke to him again yesterday after expressing concerns over someone coming Friday to try and "fix it" and he told me it would be no problem to fix those spots but if I still don't like it he'll come rip it out himself and do it over. Even if they "fix" everything else I'm not sure the brighter "stripe" in the middle of the 2 bay is something I should be accepting of.
This is becoming a nightmare at this point as I have brand new NewAge Pro cabinets taking up space in my neighbors garage.
Any input is appreciated.
