Well got the stand done... did I mention I work slow? Got the on/off switch mounted and turned some spacers for the handle mount. Very steady now.

I almost feel like I cheated buying a SWAG table :lol: But it really is nice. I did fabricat the sliding fence though. The extended upper blade guide works great too. The saw cuts straight and true.

I really like the guide! If I had a mill I definitely try and do that.

No mill required for that either. Its just a piece of 3/4" x 3/8" bar stock and a piece of 3/4" angle welded together. I used a precision machinist square to get it to a perfect right angle before welding. It took less than 30 minutes to make.

The pins are so the whole stand doesn’t slid when cutting metal. They go in from like in the photo.

Btw if anyone out there doesn’t have a portaband, you need one!

Thinking about adding this laser line gizmo :)

Too fancy for me. I used a sharpie and and drew line on my saw table for a guide. Straight edge on saw blade and mark, then a ninety degree to that.
Remark as necessary.
