They didn't need a crane that big, that's just what royce had laying around..lol
Incredible progress! Are the bases set in concrete, or on concrete and the attachment between rafters hold it all rigidly together? Are they planning to paint it at the end of assembly? That crane looks fairly vintage, but still doing the job! What do the rafter frames weigh, each?
. Very nice work! That is an awesome project Royce. If you don't have a project lined up after this one, I'm sure there is a river or gorge somewhere in Alaska that needs a bridge built across it.. Very nice work!

Marc,
There is no budget, it is for a long time friend and I have not tracked hours.

Wow! how does a person follow that one up.
It would be cool if you could put a little logo plate or your name somewhere inconspicuous, someone would probably like to see the craftsmen involved a couple hundred years from now. Another Fantastic Project! Thanks as always for sharing![]()
Thanks Matt and it is my pleasure to share.
My plan is to write a note about the project, put it in a steel capsule and drop it in one of the arches.
That way whenever it is demolished by whoever, they will find out about the particulars of structure.

I did that with a lake cabin I built 25 years ago, put it in a legal envelope with a $100 bill on top of a kitchen corner cabinet that butted up to an 8x8 structural beam. Only way anyone will ever find it is if they remove the upper cabinets. 6 hand printed yellow legal pages with all the construction details, workers names, sources for the materials (a lot of salvaged timbers) and a copy of the plans and construction photos. I'll probably be long gone when it surfaces, but who knows?
Excellent Puget,
It is fun thinking about who will stumble on to it and the smile it brings to them.
We did a time capsule in one of our deck columns.
All the kids and grandkids that could write, each wrote a note and provided a trinket for the cause.

Puget,
So where did you build this cabin![]()
