HOLY COW... the P.C. 548 is the Rolls Royce of bayonet saws. Replace the cord and use it--it will win you over in a hearbeat. A lot of power is concealed in that unassuming little saw. Keep it full of gear lube, as the gear that wears out is a bit hard to find--not impossible tho. J. Huston, on OWWM restores them for a decent price, but that one looks like it won't need restoring. And... $10? Go price a similar setup on ebay--you'll be pleasantly surprised. I paid $150 for one that needed to be rebuilt, but I was happy just to get one, and I happily paid another $85 or so to get J. Huston to rebuild it. The bayonet blades are a little hard to find, but I've made new ones from Milwaukee Sawzall blades. And you've got the rare tilt attachment too. Wow!
