Found this little guy at the Goodwill today. Check out that low serial number. It works, but that power cord has seen better days. It's cracking and probably needs replaced if I ever decide to actually use it. A whopping $9.99 plus tax.

HOLY COW... the P.C. 548 is the Rolls Royce of bayonet saws. Replace the cord and use it--it will win you over in a hearbeat. A lot of power is concealed in that unassuming little saw. Keep it full of gear lube, as the gear that wears out is a bit hard to find--not impossible tho. J. Huston, on OWWM restores them for a decent price, but that one looks like it won't need restoring. And... $10? Go price a similar setup on ebay--you'll be pleasantly surprised. I paid $150 for one that needed to be rebuilt, but I was happy just to get one, and I happily paid another $85 or so to get J. Huston to rebuild it. The bayonet blades are a little hard to find, but I've made new ones from Milwaukee Sawzall blades. And you've got the rare tilt attachment too. Wow!
