No.. The best they do is 82 tooth which is courtesy of a dual paw setup.

And I always thought the Wright flare nut wrenches had a satin finish like Proto for some reason. Probably because in the catalog, if it is a full polish product Wright states it is full polish...the flare nut wrenches do not say full polish so I assumed it was satin. I was thinking of getting some SK's because they are full polish, but I will have to consider Wright now too.

I picked this up not too long ago...#752 Wright grip metric combo wrench set, These wrenches are NICE they look flawless. I paid $140 which I think is a good value for a quality US made wrench set as nice as this one is.

Motoretro, I have the #360 set and I never noticed where the case was made, is yours marked someplace? I'm surprised they wouldn't use a local place to make the case's as well, there is a bunch of local places around here that make that kind of stuff.

I came across a really good deal on a new Wright 422 set of 12-point, 1/2” drive sockets and a short Wright 4437 breaker bar. The 422 set includes 15 sockets from 3/8 to 1-1/4, a 4426 ratchet, 4435 18” breaker bar, universal joint and a 4405, 5” extension all in a steel carry box. Also, included was the 4437 breaker bar.

I didn’t need any of these items, but the price was too good to pass up!

I had never seen a 4437 in real life so was quite surprised as to how STOUT this 10-1/2” long breaker bar really is! The ratchet’s shank is 0.52”, the 18” bar shank diameter is 0.62” and the short breaker bar is a whoppin’ 0.74” !!! Rather than calling it a breaker bar, maybe it should be called a cheater pipe adapter!

A feature of the Wright sockets that I really like is the large size stampings …. Big, clear and easy for my old eyes to see. Wright chrome is, as always, very nice.

These sockets will be replacing a set of Blackhawk sockets that I’ll bundle with an extra ratchet, breaker bar, and a few extra accessories and give to my son-in-law.

I've been looking for someplace local that sells Wright, as I prefer, whenever possible, to spend money in local joints. So, after work yesterday, since the GF wasn't feeling well, I took a little side trip to see if I could find some Wright goodness. The first place I stopped had a good sized wall of Proto, but when I asked, the counter guy told me they had a problem with the Wright sales rep, and dropped the line, even though it's still listed on Wright's website. Place number two actually had some tools, but didn't carry any sets. As I was thinking about finishing out my 1/4" drive sockets (I need SAE 6 point'shallow and deep) plus the counter guy kinda ticked me off, I walked out with nothing. I guess I'll be getting in touch with Epstein's....

My Wright 958 set I got off Amazon with a bunch of Bing rewards gift cards.

They are so beautiful, I made them my avatar. I will definitely be getting an SAE set and as many more Wright Tools as I can afford. They feel so great and just exude quality.

The only other Wright Tools I've got right now are a set of 1/2" SAE sockets that unfortunately have had some chrome chip off the edges of them. I've sliced myself a few times on them now as chrome plating is SHARP. I wonder if Wright would do anything about it. They still function just fine besides the blood letting.

As long as the chrome chip issue on the Wright 1/2" SAE sockets was not caused by abuse or heavy socket use, Wright should warranty them. You can call Wright's customer service department at 800-321-2902.

They are made by Pratt-Read

Those Pratt-Reed drivers look interesting. They don't have the stupid floating rubber handle that all other Pratt-Reed drivers have. I have a few and they drive me nuts (as in insane not fastening a nut ) because I feel like it's broken since that rubber piece moves forward and backwards a litle bit.

I've found the long Hex sockets very useful working on Motorcycles, IE. Older Moto Guzzi's have a 10mm head bolt which is submerged under another 10mm bolt cover, way down inside the head. Skips?

I like the look of the Wright screwdrivers but they don't like a couple of actual Pratt-Read drivers I have. Maybe they they make this specific style just for Wright?

The Wright nut-drivers look identical to ones labeled Masterforce I saw in Menards. I guess Pratt-Read does private label work for multiple companies.

I was searching the interwebz for Wright Tool dealers in my area and stumbled across a few threads here on GJ, so well I joined up! My 521 full polish came in this week to replace my crappy Metric Mac Knuckle savers I'd been cussing at for 12 years (they hurt my hands like a sob). I been using the Satin Wright SAE at work and just think they are super comfortable. Really looking forward to cranking on these.

Metric set 9218

Do the Wright nut drivers as shown here (set 9218) have solid or hollow shanks? From what I can tell, the Classic-handled Pratt-Read nut drivers (which appear identical to these Wright drivers) are only made with solid shanks.

Thanks for the pics! I like that swivel head spinner handle in the 1/4 drive set...I have a Wright 2400 and it's one of my favorite 1/4 rats.

I would agree on the Blue Grass ratchets, I saw a 4425 (long 1/2) that was almost identical to my Wright 4425.

Back in High School, I worked in a discount store (Part of Cook United). We sold Wright tools, and I bought sets of both Metric and SAE wrenches, as well as a 1/2" Drive SAE socket set. I already had a 3/8 Drive socket set made by Wright for PowrKraft.

Since I had the 4400 1/2 drive ratchet, I bought an open stock 3400 3/8 Ratchet

The quality of the tools is great, they have all held up well for over 4 decades, and I have NEVER had one of them fail, even after hard use

Damn, how old is that?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe "AC 42+" is the date code and indicates that it was made in 1942. This was owned by my wife's grandfather who ran an airplane maintenance business.

A twist on an otherwise annoying question: I just bought a Wright 3480 open ratchet (I got a 3425 as well). Does anybody who owns one have any secrets/suggestions as to what to use to lube them? Do you even lube them?
