Re: Post your cat here

I will play.

Sad, but not sad.

Copy and paste from September

The time came at 16+ years old tonight.

Harley will miss him for sure

Thank you gents.

Funny how they are all very different in their personality and presence.

Dukey was just nice.

As evidenced by Nicolas posting on FB.

Of course he was treated like he was not too bright but proved me sooooo wrong the day I obstructed his favourite garden bed toilet.

Perfectly over my laundry line post hole.

Remember this?

So the end of an era.

Harley now has become even more clingy.

Interestingly she has taken over Dukeys surfboard scratchpad. Was never interested when he was about.

Great memories.

Not mine.

But insistent.

Up at local MOT station where he is a garage cat.

He completely sucker punched me

Would happily let him move in.

Re: Post your cat here

Oh, I have all kinds of photos of Merlot getting caught in the "cat trap". Just yesterday morning the wife was sorting through the closet and pulled a plastic bin full of her running clothes out, dumped it on the bed and placed the bin on the bed. It was like a nanosecond between the time the bin hit the bed and Merlot was in the bin.

I've got a video on my phone where I threw a liquor bottle box on the floor. ******* stuck his head in it and was trying to crawl into the box. In reality all he was doing was pushing the box along the floor with his head stuck in it.
I think he would try to crawl into a matchbox if I threw it on the floor.

Still shot...

His favorite box. Turn your back while unloading groceries, and this is what happens.

Re: Post your cat here

Didn't want to take away from the other cat thread. This is Rex. I got him in 1993 from the pound as a full grown cat. I have had him 25 of my almost 50 years.

He can be quite onry and only has 4 teeth left. He is doing well for his age that has to be near 30.

That is amazing! Did he lose his teeth or have you had his teeth done and some pulled? I lost a 14 YO cat after a dental cleaning and have been afraid to do that with my two current cats. They are 14 and 10.

Funny story about ours. Our crazy neighbor said he better not find our cat in his back yard again or he "would take care of it". The very next day our cat took a huge **** in the middle of crazy neighbor's front yard. He didn't even try to bury it.

Sparky&Neo.jpg
My two cats, Sparky (on top) and Neo. They're brothers with completely different personalities. Sparky is constantly seeking a lap and Neo barely tolerates anyone except for my youngest son. He follows him around all day and waits near a door for his return if he leaves. Both love teasing our Aussies by stealing their toys and placing them out of dog reach. Both are 4 years old.

Re: Post your cat here

Boo. My son found him in the upper parking deck at a mall when he was maybe 6 wks old. Someone prob dumped him cause he's all black. That was 6+ years ago. He's good, tho he still rips thru the house at like 20 MPH once or twice a day.

Our cats do that, too! It's the "that was a good dump" dance!

This is Baxter - all 18 lbs of him:

He's 14+ years old and has lived with me for the past eight. He's as close to a dog as you could ever get with a cat. He acts like he's hot **** but he still loves his daddy.

My wife and I are firmly convinced that if either of us/both of us passed away at home and no one found us, our cats would eat us.:spit:

Reba, the #1 cat. About 5, got her 2 years ago. Zero interest in boxes, but enjoys string. Loves tummy rubs and sitting by me, dislikes being picked up, which I do occasionally anyway.

Re: Post your cat here

Here is my rescue cat. Her original owner died. Interesting the conclusions some people come to when a single guy has a Himalayan.

Will go outside if I let her but leaves birds and lizards alone. Makes friends with skunks  but that seems to work out well. Actually sometimes the skunks seem to make friends with her. They get along great but I'm don't think that's a good idea........ so were not going outside except during daylight hours anymore.

Re: Post your cat here

Cats are ok, but I always get the feeling they would kill and eat me if they were bigger..lol

That's not necessarily true. We had a 200+ lb mountain lion for years and he never ate us. He did give me the evil eye sometimes like he was considering it, but he adored my wife.

His back teeth are just worn away. I'm afraid that he too might come out of surgery. He seems to be ok. He prefers the canned wet food now.

Re: Post your cat here

This is our Zack. Approaching sixteen. The first "Tom" we've had. All our previous cats were female. He's a rescue and was never permitted to be a cat, he spent most of his time in a carrying case, so never learned the basics of chasing things or climbing trees, etc. Good cat though, no problems.

Here's a couple of pics our boys. Riley still thinks he has a pair and humps on big brother Smudge. They both think the grill cover makes a good bed.

I had a gay cat once ... no worries.

Weirdo is my garage cat. He is dark brown but looks black. Got him at 4 weeks old... had to be bottle fed every few hours for awhile... he was severely malnourished... probably why he is not right in the head... he is also allergic to dust...

My NON-Garage Cat... Her name is ZIPPURR

She was also a bottle baby... saved from a life in a windowless garage because her family didn't want to "dirty" the house with her. She has food aggression … don't eat something she wants... without sharing. You will need bandaids if you decide NOT TO SHARE.

My shop cat Bandit. He is digging his new home with skylights. My previous shop didn't have any windows.

And... Yes, you do see PVC airlines in the shop. That's the very first thing I removed. I have some nice 3/4" Max Air piping to do the job right!

We have two kitties, but only Pancho dares venture into the garage or workshop.

Necio is a responsible hunter and generally eats the entire thing except for tail feathers.

Linus the male brown tabby was left behind in a rental property at a young age and I got him from a friend of a friend. He is very vocal and active and is often a pain-in-the-**** but he is my buddy. I call him my problem child.

Scamp is a the typical orange male tabby, laid back and you just talk to him and he starts purring like an outboard motor. Got him from a local rescue group.

Photo's of the cats doing whats cats do...........

ok I'll play. had dogs, grew up with cats, dont mind either.

Here is the cat I live with Peachy, yes she is nice and lets me stay as long as i care and feed her. she is an Orange Mackeral Tabby.

back story, 9 years ago wife and step daughter came home on summer day after a trip from grandparents house out in BFE. they stopped at a roadside farm stand, as a family friend owns and operates it. sell fruits, veggies, etc, and it was july time frame. they walk in the door with a towel and this kitten wrapped up in it and proceed to try and sell me on keeping the kitten, saying she was born on a farm, her parents are farm animals and she can stay and live outside and THEY will take care of her, i do NOT have to do anything. i chuckled and stated she can stay but would have to stay inside and not go out, and they would have to tend to her.

needless to say the cat owns me, and i swear she is a dog, follows me around like on, MUST be in the same room as me, knows my schedule and times i leave, come home, and morning routine. if i go outside, she follows me to the door and will be there until i come back in, and then fuss at me if she thinks it was too long. i feed her her meals, give her fresh water, and am the only one who can take her to the vet. in fact i have to take her cause no one else can, she wreaks havoc and gives em all hell, i go and they can do whatever they need to her and she could care less.

funny part is she does NOT meow, just an occasional squeak. i usually call her squeaky.
she loves a box, if you bring one in the house she is on it before you let it go, and if you go to open one up, she is in it as soon as you lift the first flap, NO MATTER what is in it. she does NOT get on the furniture much, and loves paper, if you toss paper on the floor she is on it and napping. also loves string and laser light. oh and she love to play fetch with her balls with those bells in it. mainly playing with them once everyone goes to bed !! she is a cuddle kitty, with me, and no one can pick her up but me, i can hold her anyway i want as long as i am holding her. she is truely good for nothing, but a great cat, best i have ever been around, and truly enjoy her company !! great lounging cat.

best part is they brought her home and she adopted me, and could care less about anyone else, other than my son, who is now grown and gone.

when she turned 3 she had a serious condition that we took her to a specialist, and no one could ever figure out what was wrong with her, and we were going to put her down. she would get stiff as a board, could not move, or anything. i took her 150+ miles a few times to visit the specialist, and no avail. when we decided to put her down i guess her will took over, within 24-48 hours she was walking and moving again, drs were and still are baffled. they thing it was a neurological issue. i just know the last 6 year has been a blast and always great to come home and be greeting by her.

oh yeah she LOVEs power tools !! we had an addition put on a few years ago and she was all about the construction, the contractor was baffled. i break out a saw or drill she is all about it and has to see what i am doing.

she is truly my best friend and companion :)

few picts attached, from day 1 to recently, doing what she does best
