Maine **** cats are the dogs of the cat world

Yea, first time he started playing fetch with us, we were blown away. Just started doing it on his own.
We bought some of the Jackson Galaxy toys that are the telescoping pointers with the reel on the end and a feather on the end of the string. We'll get him going and one time I actually got him to jump about 4' up in the air with a back flip at the top. All my life I've seen cats that always land on their feet. Not this big boy. He'll sometimes get 2' to 3' of air chasing the feather and hit the floor with a good solid thud on his side. Hop up and keep going......
When his tongue is hanging out and he's panting like a dog, we usually put the feather toy away. :lol_hitti

Our cat is the sweetest cat in the world ...until we bring out that toy. Then she is transformed into a killing machine. She will go berserk chasing that feather, then when she gets a hold of it it becomes a tug-o-war and she growls like a dog.

OK, doesn't feel right not posting a pic of our late Buddy. We lost him about a year and a half back. This was the pound kitty that chose me. This is the one the kids grew up knowing and loving.

Its Funny When They Grown.

Cleopatra Growls of course, She'll grow if the screen door is not shut good and the wind Bangs it.
And LOL She Growls at The Neighbor Lady too. She don't like her for some reason.

Negen, is that a male cat? If yes, he's an exact twin of one of the boys we used to have. Called him Speedbump, 'cause he didn't move much. You'd have to walk up and over, or around him...just like a speedbump.

Coolest cat we ever had, hands down.[emoji106]
Yeah he's a male. Not sure where he came from wife found him in a cardboard box at work last year I let him live here. He follows me for mile long walks every day.

So.....How's everyone's Christmas trees holding up so far? :lol_hitti

Merlot has been sitting back watching his Mom decorate the entire house the past few days and he appears to be in shock. She turns our house into Biltmore Mansion Jr. with all the stuff she puts out.
Kitty has been watching quietly. But last night he started into the Christmas ornaments on the bottom of the tree.
He would get wound up and run through the house and then do a circle around the tree in the corner like he was catching its gravity (yea, its big enough to make its own atmosphere) and sling shot out into space.
Ornaments would go flying from behind him caught in his vortex as he picked up the icicles in the process. He was covered in them and looked like a silver bullet flying through the house.

:lol_hitti What a mess, I bet. I'm sometimes glad we don't do the Christmas tree deal.

yeah think all cats are curious, no matter what i am doing she has to be in the mix, checking it out, sniffing everything, and then trying to help !!

and this is her favorite time of year, boxes galore !! shoot does not have to be a box, and as long as she can get a PAW in it, she thinks she is IN IT
you have approximately 3 seconds before she is in, on, or stalking it
no matter what YOU THINK that box is now hers

Our kitty loves the boxes. She doesn't get in my way. She sits there and gives me the "do you know what you're doing" look. Kind of like a waifu or girlfriend. She is such a silly kitty sometimes.

We had the collar problem. She would go hide and pop it off. I found one with a real buckle and she couldn't get it off. Eventually she learned to live with it and we put her regular collar back on.

Here's a picture of mine. Levi is the tabby, loves to go in the garage with me. Star is the small Gray one. Both are rescues Levi was found in the middle of the street when he was 2 weeks old, Star was found in a dumpster behind a fast food restaurant. couldn't think of life without them.

Our cat Ms Leroy. Of all my cats and dogs she is the most loyal and loving. If I ever win the lottery I’ll have her cloned. Maybe 13 years old? Not sure, she came with our house. She’s the #1 neighbourhood mouser, also poor birds and the odd frog too.

Female, yes. A ragged stray that wandered into the yard many years ago. Took almost a year of leaving food out before she would let me pat her.

Shes really Pretty, My Vet said 3 colored cats have a little bit of an attitude sometimes.

Sometimes? No. Pretty much always[emoji3]
Cleo was Hissing and Growling at the Vet and His nurse, She was matted up, and don't like to get brushed. When He was checking her organs, Feeling around you Know. Then She started smacking at them. :lol_hitti
I said "I'm sorry" he says "for What" I said"For her behavior"
He said "NO! that's very common behavior for three colored cats"...........
He would know!!

The black and white cat actually belongs to my neighbor but hangs around my house and garage. He is great at keeping the mouse population down and is very friendly to me. The 2 maine **** cats are our indoor cats. They each way 20-21 pounds, the orange and white one has a very high prey instinct, the other one..… not so much.

The beige cat is Theo. He's 20# of couch crushing, fur shedding laziness. He's pretty much a mush . . .

The white and orange (almost looks like mahogany) is Evan (Evinrude). He's skittish but once activity settles down he's a cuddler. He's spends every night somewhere on the bed with me and Mrs No_Garage. He play's fetch and get's hit toys out of the nightstand when he wants.

Cheers

Jim

Not supposed to have a shop cat, but ended up with these two.

Their mother was an old farm cat, a ruthless hunter. When she had a litter you would see her twice a day with a gopher, mouse, mole, rabbit whatever. Mostly gophers, few birds.

Anyway she had these two early fall and disappeared. Wife fed them with an eye dropper, then bottle and on to dry food.

They’re going to loose their home in the shop, knocking everything over. Animal shelter for them next week.

Please, only use No Kill shelters. Other shelters have a 70% mortality rate for cats and over 50% for dogs. Sending an animal to a shelter that isn't No Kill is pretty much a death sentence.
