Please, only use No Kill shelters. Other shelters have a 70% mortality rate for cats and over 50% for dogs. Sending an animal to a shelter that isn't No Kill is pretty much a death sentence.

Tommy

Or find a friend who will adopt them... I've been in No-Kills... it's very sad to live in a cage for TWO YEARS or TEN... Agree with Tommy... animal shelters are a **** shoot... odds are against surviving a month.

We actually did give them away. Young family wanted them so bad when they were on a baby bottle.

Took them home and BROUGHT THEM BACK the next day. Who does that ?

Too much work.

Laziness/not being willing to take on the full responsibility of a pet once the owner finds out there's more to it than just snuggling on the couch, is one of the reasons shelters are always full.

Not supposed to have a shop cat, but ended up with these two.

Their mother was an old farm cat, a ruthless hunter. When she had a litter you would see her twice a day with a gopher, mouse, mole, rabbit whatever. Mostly gophers, few birds.

Anyway she had these two early fall and disappeared. Wife fed them with an eye dropper, then bottle and on to dry food.

They’re going to loose their home in the shop, knocking everything over. Animal shelter for them next week.

they are darling wish i could take them.I could Easily Become The Neighborhood "Crazy Cat Man" .
unfortunately, (Maybe A good thing,.........L0L)..............Cleopatra does not play well with others.

I’ve got a few, but only have pics of these two.

The gray tabby is Floopy. He is the great grandson of a cat I had years ago. He is pretty much feral, but super friendly (if that makes sense). He taught himself how to use the doggy door, so he comes and goes as he pleases. He knows there is food here for him haha.

The white one is Nugget. A friend wanted a kitten for his kids. We went to get a kitten off of craigslist or something, I can’t remember. They only had 2. So he got one, and I couldn’t leave this one alone, so I brought her home. Yeah. She’s not spoiled or anything....

I have another beautiful kitten, Fluffybutts, but she is a typical cat. Can’t be bothered, only wants to eat, I can’t pet her, kind of cat. I think she is hyper sensitive. She stays outside, though she knows she is allowed inside. She is a HELL of a hunter. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Then there are fluffybutts 2 children. William and Lilith. We feed them, but they haven’t gotten comfortable enough for me to pet them.

I can say one thing though. When I first got my house, it was infested with mice. I have not seen ONE mouse turd or evidence of mice in a very VERY long time :bounce:

I've bottle fed hundreds of kittens... from 2 days old to 3 or so weeks old. I had a scary good success rate...

Bottle babies make the BEST pets by far. Good friend of mine has a pet squirrel we bottle fed... Damn thing learned to use a litter box... umm... most of the time...

Sure blame it on the squirrel. Why are your pants wet?

Re: Post your cat here

We rushed him to the vet and they happened to have an organ donor tail from a long hair tabby so we retailed *****.

wow... he looks none the worse for wear... does the tail fur continue to grow in long? and can he use it pretty much just the same???

We have a couple cats, but lately there's been a couple strays hanging around...and as it's been cold...they come and sit on our heated outdoor mats that go to the hot tub...So, being the nice kid he is, my son Colt decided they needed somewhere warm to hang out, beside the heated mats...

The boys. My fiance’s, I mean, our weird cats. They’re always sneaking in the garage when I’m in there or leave the door open.

The older one on the right lived a street life as an outdoor pet until the owners gave him away, becoming just a house cat. He allegedly fathered lots of Siamese cats that roamed the neighborhood, and the story goes that on pickup day, he was mounting another cat underneath a car and she literally pulled him away to take him home. :shocking: Before we met, he was big trouble for her, tearing up apartments. Years ago she even gave him away online because of that, under the condition they wouldn’t sell him. When she saw him up for sale right quick, she went and demanded him back. Here he is now. He’s still trouble. :lol_hitti

The younger guy she had since a kitten. He was the drooling little runt who came from a Siamese cat horder lady with cages filling her house. The lady was like “I’ve got a real nice one picked out for you here.” :lol_hitti He still is the drooling little runt, cross eyed and missing a fang. I’ve seen the pictures, he was a cute white little baby.

The weirdos are like brothers and cuddle and clean each other all the time. When they wrestle, the older cat always wins by neck pin submission. He tends to be fatherly toward the other, and protective when we got the dog.

These are my two old girls. They are real sisters. My mother rescued them from a garden shed when they were kittens. They’ve been house cats their whole life. Some years back, the orange one snuck out, got spooked, and hid in the garage for days amidst my junk. The door was open and we called for her, so we figured she wasn’t in there. Days later out of nowhere she comes walking out. :dunno:

Oddly enough, as sisters, these two are rarely ever in the same room let alone cuddle or get near one another. Been that way forever.

I could count on one hand a rare occasion like this.

LOL! Mine loves playing in my sink while I'm trying to get ready in the morning for work. Dosen't even phase him when I turn the faucet on over his head. I think this summer he's going to want his own pool on the screen porch. :lol_hitti

Cats and there sinks!
Cleo used to do that.
She's a little too old and Fat (like me) and unsure of herself (like me) to get up there now.
Her gates/fences I closed the ft. porch in, are only abt. 40" tall,
she don't even think about climbing them.
Drives me crazy wanting in and out all day.
But is warm enough (barely) to leave the big door open, so shes opening the screen door going in and out herself today.....LOL

Thanks Bubinga, that they are. You must be a cat guy like me. I would rather visit dogs at someone else’s house.

Nice. I like the sink pics. Never dealt with that but my calico likes to hop in the tub when faucet is off and still dripping.

My garage cat Buster, he was a stray when we moved in got him fixed and fed him for the last few years. He follows me around where ever I am working outside, and has his spot in the garage to hangout while I work

Rogues, sorry to hear that.

Yeah, Thank You, Yes I am. To me they are easier to take care of.
Cleo likes to Drink from the Bath Tub Too.
Does your Calico Hiss at you at all, But don't really mean anything.
Cleo Does, She's Feisty.

The only time is once in a while if I run on the stairs it may startle her in the dark while she is sleeping. They are very gentle with people. Not so much when they invade each other's space.

Daughter is home from college and she's a little upset our kitty won't bond with her. Last night she played with him for probably a half hour before bed time. Chasing that feather around and jumping way up in the air and doing back flips.
She went to bed, kitty climbed up into moms lazyboy and passed out. 11:15 I picked up his limp body and put him on the foot of my bed by my feet.
He didn't move until the alarm clock went off at 6 am. He was worn slap *** out from all the exercise she gave him.
Today we are both at work, daughter is home and kitty has taken to her as his cuddle buddy finally. Daughter is now happy. Told her cats are funny how they pick a person to bond with. We'll sometimes go two weeks with him picking his human for the time being.

Daughter got home after midnight from work. Cat snuck out and was out all night. Someone let him back in early in the morning. He was very happy but I got a thorough scolding from him.

Our cat follows me and the dog on our walk, but only if the weather suits him.
We often encounter other people walking their dogs. He has learned that if he sits perfectly still, dogs will ignore him.

OMG! Funny story about Dad and his old Tom can Red. He looked the part. Chewed up ears, scars everywhere, big huge red tabby.

Mom and dad had two Lasa Opsa dogs that Dad would take on a regular walk every evening. Red would follow, but just out of sight in the tree line or shrubs in the neighbors yards. he was like the hidden bodyguard.
If another dog approached, he would launch out and attach himself to the back of the dog and ride him off into the sunset and wander back home. Dad got the neighborhood reputation of having the guard cat or attack cat.
One evening a lady was out walking her dog and stopped Dad and asked if he was the guy with the guard cat. Dad kind of grinned, snickered and told her "You're about to find out." Yep sure enough, Red hopped up on the back of her dog as his SOP, dog was yelping and hollering and taking off down the road dragging the lady on his leash.
I've never heard Dad chuckle so hard when he told that story every time for years on end.

All 3 of our cats are "inside" cats....we could leave the front door wide open and they would complain about the draft being let in:spit:

But I did adopt a stray/feral cat who is now bold enough to walk into the garage and let me pet it (not sure of it's gender, but looks female to me). We have a ravine behind our house that's wooded, and that's where most of my edible garbage/leftovers/overripe fruits and veggies/stale bread and crackers/cereal get thrown. All manner of God's creatures eat the buffet I create down there, including this cat. This critter has taken to napping under our deck or under the Leyland cypresses in the side yard. I've been putting out little handfuls of our cat's food for it up in the driveway but that's getting expensive (they don't eat cheap dry food). Last weekend I picked up a huge bag of economy cat kibble and set a small bowl on my front porch. I fill it when I leave for work in the morning and then again at night. She/he/it has become quite friendly with me now, LOL. I'll see if I can get a pic of it to post. Cute little thing.

yes I was shocked on how much they favor each other, if Macy would loose some weight you would have a hard time telling them apart! macy was just a kitten when we found her so she hasn't know anything but indoor life! Motel 6 was about 1-2 years old when she came up to my daughter while we were on vacation. She made herself at home in our motel room so we took her home with us... she still skittish but seems to adapted to indoor life well

yeah talking about sinks... Peachy owns the one in the MUD room that is her personal watering hole.

oh yeah and she knows HOW to use the mirror. she will get up on the sink, look in the mirror, cause she can see into the kitchen. she will sit and stair at you via the mirror till you look and acknowledge her and turn on the water.

also the sink i use to clean her up and give her a bath in :)
