Our kitty used to be an indoor-outdoor kitty. She was chased by something in the wood lot behind us. She's now an indoor-outdoor enclosure kitty. I need to get a pic of her in it. Maybe later today if the weather holds.

hehehe, the first pic needs the caption: "why isn't this box open for us?"

We can't keep open boxes inside the house.....Colby chews the hell out of them. Makes a terrible mess all over the place (he chews little bits off and spits them out, doesn't swallow them thankfully). Annnnddd, what Colby does, Ralph has to copycat.

Abner could care less, he just sleeps on or in them. You'd never know that by looking at his swelt physique though:spit: I've nicknamed him Walter, after that cranky mannequin that Jeff Dunham does. I swear he acts like an 80 year old "get off my lawn" man. They're all the same age, though, about 3-4 yrs.

Right after I posted this and finished lunch. I got ready to go outside to get a pic of Kitty in her outside enclosure and it started sleeting. So we went back inside and sat in front of the heater. :willy_nil

ALL: my wife has a new rule the last few months with CLEO i'm trying to get my head around (did I mention my bride is a CAT WHISPERER). my wife doesn't let Cleo sniff at her food and then leave and run outside anymore cause my wife (and I if it was me feeding her) didn't like having to wrap up the food and put back in the fridge while she was out prowling the neighborhood all day.

now my wife TELLS CLEO to eat her food before she can go outside and CLEO is actually minding her, but Cleo still tries to run out without eating first. mind you Cleo still gives my wife THE LOOK, but my wife is winning or appears to be at the moment and says Cleo is maybe the smartest cat she's ever owned and she's had cats for over 60 years now in her life.

Jeff: if you might want to know where to buy that painting we bought of the orange cat painting a tiger just ask since you own the cat(s)?

Drives:Yes, they are smart, some more than others.
I taught my Cleo "Kitchen" since we moved here. She goes in the kitchen when I say,
Rusty Junk: Dink is pretty too!
Here's my Cleopatra video again, she still goes to her dish and sits when I tell her. Or to Her "Paper" and sits for treats.

We just had our Liza Jane put down Thursday. Not a garage cat; she lived indoors all 15 years. She had a thyroid problem for many years, and it finally caught up to her.

Just A Cat?

- from an unknown source

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a cat" or
"that's a lot of money for just a cat".

They don't understand the distance travelled, the time spent or the costs
involved for "just a cat".

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a cat".

Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a cat", but I did
not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a cat" and
in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a cat" gave me
comfort and reason to overcome the day.

Just a cat

If you too think it's "just a cat", then you will probably understand
phrases like "just a friend", "just a sunrise" or "just a promise".

"Just a cat" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust
and pure unbridled joy.

"Just a cat" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a
better person. Because of "just a cat" I will rise early, take long
walks and look into the future with hope.

So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a cat" but an embodiments
of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the
past, and the pure joy of the moment.

"Just a cat" brings out what is good in me and diverts my thoughts
away from myself and the worries of the day.

I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a cat" but
the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a man".

So the next time you hear the phrase "just a cat", just smile, because
they "just" don't understand they are missing "just a blessing" in their
lives.

This is Momma, she was or is feral, she adopted us, she will only come the either the wife or I, anyone else she keeps her distance, she will come into the shop and knock everything off of the bench that is left out...if you talk to her she will talk back, after she had been with us for a while she had kittens, that is when we took her in to get fixed...

She looks like a purebred seal point Siamese. If so, it is interesting how light her body color is. Supposedly their body color can lighten and darken depending on the climate they live in. All ours growing up ended up with much darker bodies perhaps due to our cold climate.

Here are my two sisters, Aggie and Allie. Except for a few month of not getting along...they've been good buddies. (Vet said it as "misdirected aggression" from seeing another cat outside.)

They are both talkative, nice cats but Allie is more aloof and Aggie is my buddy. She will meow at the doors to our heater room, storage room in the basement or attached garage as she likes to look. I literally have to carry her into those areas as we don't want her loose.

In the one pic, I was doing something in the attached garage and she wanted to be with me. She was very interested in the Viper.

MUSH: sorry for your loss and I hope you know your little buddy really enjoyed her life with you and your family. May Liza Jane RIP!!!

ALL: A few years ago I was going to start a thread RIP OUR FURRY FRIENDS cause when they leave us they leave a HUGE HOLE and I might start that thread. it's a sad day as most of us know that have had a few cats (and dogs) in our lives and it's good to have a few members post up a few good words to help us get through it.

That picture must have been taken when fairly young - they get darker as they age.

So, I mentioned earlier that I've sort of adopted an outside/feral cat. I've been putting out some friskies type dry kibble for him/her.....turns out there's a couple of them coming around, which I don't really mind. My wife went to shut the front storm door a couple nights ago and nearly jumped out of her skin, saying there was a raccoon on the front porch. I didn't believe her until last night when I did the same, and there was Rocky the raccoon quietly eating the cat food on the front porch steps:spit:

He's a cute little guy, about 10-12 lbs if I had to guess. The wife is not amused, lol.

I wouldn't be amused, either. You get one or two, you'll have many more in no time.

I mentioned these 2 in my previous post.

The left one is William and the right one is Lilith. They are siblings.

They were both born under the neighbors house. They are basically feral. William has let me briefly pet him while he is eating (then realizes I’m petting him and runs haha) and Lilith won’t let me get close.

William has been curious about coming into the shop. He comes to the door and looks in. So maybe eventually he will be another shop cat. Only time will tell.

Way back in college, our Calico cat mated with the neighbors Siamese. You wouldn't believe the color combinations we got out of that litter.

Long haired cat that got mixed up with a Siamese. There is a breed called "Himalayan", looks more like a Persian crossed w/Siamese - think flat face w/Siamese markings.

By the way - is that a 318ti in your Flickr?

Gizmo looks like a Rag Doll cat to me. I had one named Dinah years ago. Very sweet kitty. If you hold him on your arm does he let his legs just hang down? That’s very common with them. I GUESS why they’re called that.

I got mine as a stray, soaking wet kitten. Touch and go for a bit but got her well and had her spayed and only later found out the kittens are expensive - natch!

This is Georgie, or as I call him Big George. I think he may have some Maine **** in him. When my GF moved in with her two pound-rescue cats (brother/sister) he quickly became my buddy. He curls up on the couch against the back of my legs and sits on the top of the chair while I work. His sister Emmeline (aka- pokey paws) likes to crawl onto my chest, usually around 4am, for a scratching.

Cleopatra does that too, And gently bites my fingers, and purrs at the same time.
I think Cleopatra may be part main **** also.
