Shes always right there with me when Im in the garage. She hates loud noises of any sort though. Soon as I head for the air hose she runs.

This was “ Scooter” I got him in down town Muskogee in 1997, he came up to me while I was working on some gas pumps. We hooked up right away,mi put him in my truck and he curled up and went to sleep. He was about 1/2 grown. He was my buddy! I lost him in 2015, he is buried behind my shop. I miss him everyday.

The part of your post I put in bold letters got to me. When my wife and I went to look around at cats to adopt two of them, Sarge, my black cat, was there. He was only about 8 weeks old.

I was not really looking to get a black cat, but they had put a bunch of kittens and cats in this room and let my wife and go in and sit down and check them out. Sarge walked right up to me, looked up to me as if to say "pick me up" so I did.

I was holding him on my left arm and he proceeded to curl up and fall asleep! That was it. I knew he was mine. Or as the lady at the pet store said, you belong to him now! And he has been my constant buddy ever since!

I firmly believe that they come to us and let us know we belong to them!

Beautiful Seal Point Siamese. My mom has had 3 of them at different times from say 1957 to say 2007 and would still have one but didn't what to deal with a kitten at her age and couldn't find an adult at the time she was looking for another cat. Of all the cats she or my family has had the Siamese where the ultimate heat seekers and especially when they got older when you sat down they were on your lap in record time. Looks like you know that feeling.

He was amazing! Had personality, could get mad, happy, aloof. When I had friends over to have drinks around the fire pit, he would join in ( not the drinks,lol) my friends referred to him as the “ original party animal “. The louder my rambunctious the better he liked it!
He had his own heated bed in my shop.
I miss him.

What a coincidence , my first home cat, as an adult, was named “ Sarge” , he was a Tabby and had a lot of stripes! I had him for 13 years. I lived in town then and he was an outside cat. He sometimes would go missing for a a few days, I would look for him, then he would come home all combed/ brushed up and smelling of perfume! This happened several times... he would never tell me where he had been! Rascal!


I got Scooter a while after Sarge passed.

ALL: happy new year to all my GJ cat lovers!!

since my daughter moved back in with us the end of October while she and her hubby look for a home she and her 4 cats have taken over so to speak. one thing in our favor is that our cat doesn't like them or any other cats or dogs for that matter so while she's in the house the other 4 cats have to go in their room.

it's a cat house for sure, but the kids found a home to buy and they are moving out at the end of the month.

We just had our Liza Jane put down Thursday. Not a garage cat; she lived indoors all 15 years. She had a thyroid problem for many years, and it finally caught up to her.

I lost my little buddy Sima at 21 years old because her kidneys had shut down after a long time of thyroid issues (unknown to me). My current little buddy Meesha, was diagnosed hyperthyroid last September. I started her on Science Diet thyroid dry food. Last week I had her bloodwork results and she is back in normal range for thyroid function (on a scale of 1 to 10, she was at 11, now back to 4.7) which the vet tells me is a number less than five.

Hyper or Hypo thyroidism is common among cats of years. If your buddy is drinking or eating excessively and seeming to loose weight, loosing muscle mass, or even changing litter box habits, get to the vet and have their thyroid function checked.

Here are pics of my buddies Maynard and Meesha. Maynard is a Mackeral Tabby (speckled nose), got him at six years old from the local Humane shelter. LOTS of character, drags my cloths around the house. He's 17 now, been with me since 2008. Meesha is a purebred Siberian Seal Point, a $600 kitty. Siberians don't have the enzyme in their saliva that cause allergic reactions. She is a sweet little talkative girl now 15 years old.

Here's Sparles the cat and brother St. Basil summer of 18.
Sparkles helps me with consuming mass quantities and that's about all.
Her name came from being close to the hot tub everytime I cleaned it.
She's 3 and her brother was 12.5 when he passed in 12/18.

This BBB, he really name is Harley, but his nickname was BBB. WE lost him last night after 17 years. He was the best darn cat, just as loyal if not more loyal than a dog. It’s a hard loss for his mom and me. I’m sure he is enjoying a romp through a field chasing butterflies. Rest easy BBB.
