What do you recommend in phillips and slotted power bits? Any out there that are made to last ? All the reviews I read on Makita, deWalt, are not impressive...I'm looking to buy a pack of some..you know, one of those special 's that the manufacturers offer and use my whopping $25 gift card.at HD....thanks in advance.

My Makita gold impact bits have really held up.... much better than the Milwaukee shockwave ones.

I have not been impressed with the Milwaukee Shockwave either. I use mainly Robertson bits but the fit was very loose.

I have been thinking about trying the Snap on power bits. Doe anyone have any feedback on them?

I'm a dewalt man, but those Milwaukie shockwave bits are the only ones that stand up to impact use.

Wera is supposed to be a decent maker if 1/4 bits too. The reviews on Amazon are hovering around 4.8 out of 5 stars.

Apex and Zephyr are real good as well... but not available at HD and harder to order (order mins from supplier). Zephyr was the OE for SO for a while.

I believe I read an article that tested many, and the Bosch bits held up the best.. don't think the Milwaukee's were part of the test - but just about everything they make impresses me.. their newer sawzall blades are very impressive just holding them. Haven't had a chance to use them yet..

I have some from DeWalt but I could only find Phillips ones in impact. I have #2s in 3 lengths. I was very hard to find #3s.

For Robinson (square) and Torx, I went with Wiha. About the only place I could find them in impact and longer lengths. I have not given them much of a work out. They were a bit pricey, so I how they hold up !

I've had bad luck with Milwaukee bits, but great luck with drill bits and everything else they make. Dewalt bits have worked great for me however and are my go to.

I got really good house brand bits from my local fastener supply. I use the 2" Phillips / Robertson mostly. I do like the look of the few Snap On slotted bits with some kind of anticam blade. Not that I use that bit very often.

He is asking about using his HD gift card.... so it's down to Makita, Milwaukee, Dewalt, Ridgid, and Ryobi.

For the longest time since I would be there weekly and more often daily I most always bought my needed bits from the bulk bin at hardware store/lumberyard counter

#2PH, R2 sq, in 1 inch for drill bit holders and more often now in 2" length for use with the impact drivers. And a 1" T25 drive bit often came packed with the screws.

Heard good things about some Bosch bits, read a Pro Tool test review a long time ago Bosch ribbed tip were one of the better ones.

I had the first ShockWave bits swore I wouldn't buy them again. From what understand they have been redesigned. Really like the Milwaukee bit holders and sq. adapters a lot though

So I was selling off these Dewalts last summer. I have about 25 of the 5 packs of the PH2 left right now and a few of the 5 pack of the T25. R2's are all gone

Cost me $0.55 for each pk. These were ones the before the Max Fit I think. Never got to try any yet so don't know if they're any good. :headscrat
