Has anyone bought, or made, anything like the power drawer available on the Snap On boxes that holds your cordless tools in a deep drawer?

f93584cfefa576f63178afa5007bf69e.jpg I added the power tool organizer to my KRL1023. Snap-on won’t sell the power part separate, I guess they want you to buy the box for that. I’m in the process of engineering that part myself. I can get the part number for the organizer next time I see the SO guy.

Bringing this back from the dead... Any luck with that part number?

All the parts can be purchased from snap on. The snap on tool review on youtube did it to his 68 epiq, cut the hole in back of box and all.

I built my own using the Snap On plastic holsters. I used 18 ga steel and bent it to fit my drawer. I used 1/2" hems along all edges for stiffness and to get rid of any sharp edges where a hand or tool might be. It's not a "power" drawer as I don't have any charging capabilities, but for me it's a much better storage solution than just throwing them in.

Here is the part number and pics of my install in my 10" deep lower left drawer on my KRL. This doesn't add power, just the power tool organizer. It fits in both Master's Series (KRL/KTL) and Epiq 10" deep drawers but was originally for the 12" deep drawer on Masters Series. 56ed2c7f429593f9b0fab107b9cc4adb.jpg0965b1776d25afa0922943337310d461.jpgb49a444b0b52cf2bed37eba55a0d5a39.jpg2c80888b76f1f53056b3a24928808c26.jpg

Here is the part number and pics...

Thanks so much for sharing - I’ve been trying to figure this one out myself. Would you be able to share the dimensions of the Snap-on piece? Hoping to make sure it fits in my drawer before ordering.

It will fit Snap-on Master's Series boxes as long as the box is 29" deep. This power tool organizer won't fit the 24" deep Master's Series or KRA boxes.

As far as the height, it dropped right in my 10" deep drawer (technically you kind of have to assemble it in the drawer) but because it was actually designed for the Masters Series 12" deep drawer, the biggest power tools won't fit and still allow the drawer to close. That's why my 1/2" Milwaukee High Torque impact is standing up in the right front. Every other Milwaukee tool fit just fine. I obviously can't speak to how the Snap on cordless tools fit.

Are you able to fit a full size 1/2" impact in your drawer? I bought the kit you have and my big 1/2" impact won't let the drawer close. Wondering if you know a trick I don't. Thanks...

Bump! The 1098J5000 organizer is back-ordered through snap-on. I'm looking for something similar available from any manufacturer to fit a Matco Power Drawer. Whats available nowadays? The harbor freight icon boxes have something similar, available separately?

I've done a couple drawer conversions on used boxes I picked up for people using cable track and just modding side and small cut to back of drawer and run power via and external socket and usb rail .
Parts wise it pretty cheap and if look at snapon kit, other projects and improvise a little it easy achieve a foctory style fit .
I not a big fan of charging in drawers myself, in warmer conditions it bad for batteries, they likely have far better life charged on a shelf on side of a box with good air circulation for battery and charger .

I had someone send me a PM asking for part numbers and looking back at this I noticed they weren't included so now they will be.

Small holster = 1098APA02
Large holster = 1098APA03

M12 stubby impact needs a large. CP7732 (8941077320) 1/2" compact impact uses a small. Astro Nano 1828 impact uses a small (had to use a heat gun to warm the plastic and make small adjustments). M12 drill and impact driver both use small.

I have a KTL1022A coming tomorrow. I ordered the organizer also.

Part#: 843AE5000 it was $273.

I'm going to try to fit the power drawer either in the same drawer or the one above it, if it fits....

Part #'s: Wire harness assembly: 30AEP200 - $208
Stainless assembly with plug, etc: 30AEP249465R - $349

Do you have any idea what the difference is between part# 843AE5000 that you ordered and part #1098J5000 that was previously mentioned in this thread? Is the one you ordered longer?

I think it must have been for the Epic box. Mine is about 1/4" too long. It still works, but it's jammed in there.

Thanks. I was able to figure it out with some Google-fu… The 1098J5000 is from the KRL1098 boxes (hence the 1098 prefix) and is intended for drawers in a 29” deep box. The 843AE5000 is from the KERN843 boxes, and is intended for drawers in a 30” deep box. I wanted to post this here before I forget, because I have model numbers all over the place right now… 😆

You're right for sure on this. I'd post a pic, but I can't upload for some reason right now.

I'm going to return the one I have and order the right one. I have plenty of room, I may try to add the power strip to the drawer too. I HATE the red trim color I have, but I got a killer deal on a brand new box, so I'll be changing it from red to black. It looks like a Alabama Crimson Tide box. And I'm not a Bama fan, soooo......

My 843AE5000 came in yesterday, but does anyone have any idea what this piece is for? I can’t quite figure out a purpose for it…

It's supposed to go under the tool holder in the orientation that's shown. But I couldn't use it in mine becuase I ordered the wrong one. It really doesn't seem necessary tho. I dunno.

Figured I would post a pic of the fit of the 843AE5000 holder in an Extreme Tools 72x30” 19-drawer box:

Any chance you can measure the inside dimensions of the large and small snap on holsters? Trying to figure out which ones I need to hold a variety of different tools

The small size is about 2.5” ID and round. The large size is about 3.25” ID and more of a square with rounded corners.

Examples of what works for me:
M12 stubby impact = large
M12 impact driver and 1/2” hammer drill (2504-29) = small
Astro nano impact = small (with heat gun to make small adjustment)
CP7732 impact = small

Did you end up returning 843AE5000 or holding onto it? I ordered 1098J5000 for my Extreme Tools 72" 17 Drawer, unfortunately it doesn't fit width wise. It looks like the 843AE5000 is significantly narrower, but it's even longer? If you kept yours could you measure how long it is?

Figured I would post a pic of the fit of the 843AE5000 holder in an Extreme Tools 72x30” 19-drawer box:
Would you mind sharing how deep your actual drawer is and how much clearance you have? My drawer appears to be ~26 15/16" deep, I'm wondering if 843AE5000 will fit?

My drawers are the same depth - if memory serves, I had to assemble it inside the drawer because of the lip on the front of the drawer:

Thanks, it looks like 843AE5000 might have been a better choice for me but Snap-On won't take back the one I already ordered. For now I'm going to set it to the side, I might circle back and see if I can find someone with a metal brake to bend the one I have now.
