I wanted to share a recent save I did on an old Power-Kraft 1/2" drive ratchet I received a in a lot of tools I was given. It first hit the scrap pile as I figured it was done for. However, last week I decided to pull it out and see if I could find new parts for it. After a little research I learned that it was made by New Britain and among other brands New Britain was an OEM for the Mustang brand.

That's when the light bulb went off. I had an old Mustang ratchet laying around somewhere and when I compared them it looked like everything would swap out. Believe it or not, the Mustang had a higher tool count so I had to swap out the pawls. Other than that, it was a prefect fit. I couldn't believe of the half dozen or so 1/2 ratchets I own that these two had similar guts. Everything is coming up Millhouse:bounce:!

Is power kraft a quality brand? I scored a set of deepwells that are really thick wall but chrome. Figured they were thickk and cheap or thick because high quality.

Nice save. Always good to have that parts ratchet around. You'd be surprised how many of those round heads are interchangeable. Husky, Mac, New Britain, Sparta,Giller, Blackhawk. Probably forgetting some. They're the same ratchet of that design but branded different. All made by New Britain Machine.
