I want to share last weekend's work with everyone. I put down two coats of PPG Megaseal (primer + topcoat). While the result will be perfectly practical - a bright floor that is easy to clean - the application did not go smoothly (literally).
I recommend amateurs such as I stick with 1-gallon paint kits.
Megaseal is available only in 5 gallon buckets. Working alone, I was not able to apply it smoothly within the 20 minute working time. I have a 1-car garage, so I knew I would have a nice thick coating... but to get a uniform nice thick coating was a challenge!
In a previous garage, I applied Benjamin Moore M40 (?) 100% solids epoxy, sold in 1-gallon containers. This was much more successful! Unfortunately BM discontinued this product, as BM bought another company that also has a 100% solids epoxy (I forget the brand).
Details of my previous experience:

(Note: I am not complaining, as I need a garage to work in. Welding, grinding, painting, etc. Maybe when I'm rich and famous I want a show-queen with perfect floors to show off my million dollar cars... for now I work on my thousand-dollar rust-bucket projects!)
