^ yeah, that's why I was asking because "retail price" is never actually the retail price.

Seems like a decent deal and I need to do the timing belt on my Miata...

I picked me up one of these about a year ago. Works great. I never could find a straight answer on if they weren't as accurate as the spring style click type that you see a lot more of.

I've had this torque wrench for 2 years. Works great. I bought mine off Amazon at the time for $140

These are excellent torque wrenches. You can set them and leave them, unlike the micrometer style. I believe this is the same as the Snap-On TQR250E which retails for $359.

FYI precision instruments made Snap-on Torque wrenches in the past, I don't know if they still do, however they were of coursed marked up almost 300% from SO. Precision Instruments is made in the USA. I've always liked the beam style, due to the torque setting, which is simple turn of the dial to the correct numerical value on the the left side of the wrench. I own both the SO 3/8 and 1/2 made by them. They are great torque wrenches. The only difference is the SO torque wrenches I have, are reversible. However, I don't know why they ever put this feature on the torque wrench, as you are never supposed to back off a fastener with a torque wrench.

I bought mine a month ago. They are great. Mainly use it for lug nuts lately so it's set at 90 ready to go every time. I really like it. Paid $160ish. This is a good deal.

does this provide any kind of feedback when the torque spec has been reached? I currently use the craftsmen torque wrench that has 2 beams... it's not ideal to use in certain areas because I can't really see where the arrow is pointing.

Yes, the wrench will make a very pronounced/nice crisp click when torque is reached. These are really nice torque wrenches.

Thanks. Been looking around for a nice torque wrench. And the feedback helps a lot in getting this. Probable will pick 3/8 next week or so if the deal is still on.

Just be wary of support on these. I have the 3/8" version and stripped the ratchet gear. I emailed them and never heard back from them. It's still sitting broken in my box. I'll need to see if I can contact them via phone. I'm not even trying to warranty the part, told them to tell me how much it is and how I can pay.

In for one. Thanks OP.

True/False? - A man can't go through life without a torque wrench that goes above 180 ft./lbs.

I have one and like it. Very distinct click/feeling when the set torque is reached. One thing to keep in mind is the scale is graduated in 5 lb increments so you will need to eyeball things in between.

Got mine, 2 days order to arrival... Feels as good in my hand as my Snap On ones...and according to the load cell, just as accurate.

Left hand threads... Motorcycles and other assemblies with rotating shafts under power commonly have left hand fasteners that need torquing. and the reason i own both Snap on TQ wrenches and now Precision instruments

I bought this wrench in 2010 for $125.99 and in 2013 as a gift for $146.89 so this is a fair price for the tool.

The wrench itself is great and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if I needed to.
