Found this in a pile of trash my company was getting rid of.... Never used and comes with calibration certificate. Not sure why somebody bought it, cuz we dont have anything that would require a tw of this size. Anyway, supervisor told me i could have it... Not sure what i'm gonna do with it...

It was bought by mistake. Companies do that. Buy the wrong thing, have intention of returning it but it never happens.

Funny story, at work someone meant to order two 1/2" wrenches from the Snap On guy to bring next time he was around. Somehow that got entered as a 2 1/2" wrench. Thing was huge, and must've weighed ten pounds!

That is where the x helps... 2x 1/2" wrenches, though I am sure if someone tired hard enough, they could justify a 1" wrench! "But, but, the math says 2x1 divided by 2! So total is 1"!"

I always typed out material RFQs or orders as:
(2) 1/2"....

The 2x could lead to issues for me as I deal with pipe, tube and fittings.

... 2-3/8" wrench. I posted about that funny thing in another thread, but the 2-3/8" is 12.5 pounds, so I'd guess the 2-1/2" was more like 15 lbs. And I'm pretty sure it's the largest combination wrench Snap On has made. Mine is hanging in my garage. I've picked up nuts and bolts that fit it, and one pair has a magic marker on a string tied to it that gets used for labeling drink cups at cookouts.

I always typed out material RFQs or orders as:
(2) 1/2"....

The 2x could lead to issues for me as I deal with pipe, tube and fittings.

I'll either switch to text, like:
seven 10mm sockets,
or make it clear the quantity is in the parenthesis by doing:
(qty 7) 10mm sockets.
