I have a ~10-12 year old Craftsman power washer with a Honda GCV190 vertical shaft engine on it. (The GCV is the homeowner series, plastic timing gears, etc.).
Engine runs like a top, and appears to have the 22.2mm shaft diameter. The pump burned up on me today, and is toast.
There appear to be quite a few manufacturers of similar pumps out there. Any recommendations on a suggested pump brand to try? While I'd love to upgrade to a larger unit, at this point the engine is running like a top and seems to have a lot more life left in it, so I'd rather just throw a new pump on it. This is one of your standard residential vertical-shaft pressure washers. There are probably 25 brands that show up in a search, so I’m hoping someone has a brand recommendation.
Alternatively, I posted this over on Pirate and everyone said I should just get a new unit with a triplex pump. While that sounds great and all, I can’t see the utility in wasting a good running engine—and triplex pumps won’t run on a vertical shaft. Thoughts?
